Incubus (band)
Incubus is an American Rock music, rock band from Calabasas, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer José Pasillas while enrolled in Calabasas High School and later expanded to include bassist Alex Katunich, Alex "Dirk Lance" Katunich, and Gavin Koppell, Gavin "DJ Lyfe" Koppell; both of whom were replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and Chris Kilmore, DJ Kilmore, respectively. Incubus has attained commercial success, reaching multi-platinum sales, as well as releasing several successful singles (music), singles. After their first two albums, ''Fungus Amongus'' (1995) and ''S.C.I.E.N.C.E.'' (1997), the band earned mainstream recognition with the release of their 1999 album ''Make Yourself'' which spawned several hits, including the band's highest charting song "Drive (Incubus song), Drive." Funk Metal
Funk metal (also known as thrash-funk or punk-funk) is a subgenre of funk rock and alternative metal that infuses heavy metal music (often thrash metal) with elements of funk and punk rock. Funk metal was part of the alternative metal movement, and has been described as a "brief but extremely media-hyped stylistic fad". The funk metal scene formed in California during the mid-1980s with a group of bands who were initially playing a mix of funk, hard rock, hip hop music, hip hop and punk, and it quickly evolved to include elements of thrash metal. Enjoy Incubus
''Enjoy Incubus'' is the major label debut EP by Incubus released on January 7, 1997, on Epic Records. It contained re-recordings of songs that featured on their previous, independent releases '' Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout Root Beer'' and '' Fungus Amongus'', as well the previously unreleased song "Version" and an untitled hidden track at the end of '"Hilikus". It was the first appearance on a release by DJ Lyfe, who added turntable scratches to the ''Fungus Amongus'' songs, and also supplied saxophone samples. This release was also noted for its introduction of 'Chuck', the mysterious mustachioed man who has become an icon for Incubus's early work. It is also the only Incubus release to feature a Parental Advisory label, despite many of their other albums also containing profanity. "New Skin" is a song by American rock band Incubus. It was released as the second single from their second studio album, ''S.C.I.E.N.C.E.'' (1997). It reached #38 on the ''Billboard'' Active Rock chart in 1998. It originally appeared on their 1995 EP '' Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout Root Beer''. The song's bridge quotes Buckminster Fuller's quote, "Up to the Twentieth Century, reality was everything humans could touch, smell, see, and hear.
