Let Me In (The Osmonds Song)
"Let Me In" is a song written by Alan Osmond, Merrill Osmond, and Wayne Osmond and performed by The Osmonds. It was featured on their 1973 album, ''The Plan''. The song was produced by Alan Osmond. Background It broke from the group's string of harder rock-sounding hits through the early 1970s and began a string in which the band began playing up their image as teen idols and began releasing love ballads as singles. As with other songs on ''The Plan'', "Let Me In" carries a dual message of secular and Mormon/Christian themes, both as a straightforward love song and as a plea to God for redemption from the singer's past abandonment of Him and a request to return to His love (akin to the parable of the prodigal son). The song marked the return of the formula of Merrill and Donny Osmond alternating on lead vocals, the formula the band had used while Donny was a boy soprano; by this point, Donny's voice had lowered to the tenor/baritone range he would have in adulthood. The Osmonds
The Osmonds were an American family music group who reached the height of their fame in the early to mid-1970s. The group had its best-known configurations as a quartet (billed as the Osmond Brothers) and a quintet (as the Osmonds). The group has consisted of siblings who are all members of a family of musicians from Ogden, Utah, and have been in the public eye since the 1960s. The Osmond Brothers began as a barbershop quartet consisting of brothers Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay. They were later joined by younger siblings Donny and Jimmy, both of whom enjoyed success as solo artists. With the addition of Donny, the group became known as the Osmonds; performing both as teen idols and as a rock band, their peak lasted from 1971 to 1975. Their only sister Marie, who rarely sang with her brothers at that time, launched a successful career in 1973, both as a solo artist and as Donny's duet partner. OTT (band)
OTT were an Irish boy band of the mid-late 1990s. The five members were Niall O'Neill, Alan Fitzsimons, Alan Mates (known as 'Adam' in the band), Glen Clarke and Keith Cox. They were signed to Sony Music and had a number of chart hits in Ireland and the UK. After three top ten single releases in Ireland, they attempted to break the UK market minus Keith Cox, who had left for family reasons. Although moderately successful in the UK, the band became well known in Asia with sales of up to 250,000 copies of their debut album. After being dropped by Sony in the late 1990s, the band called it a day. O'Neill now runs a multi-media company in Dublin, having worked at a Spanish tourist resort, Fitzsimons works in the Mobile Communications industry, Mates is an Interior Designer, and Clarke lives in the United States. Joel Carver Whitburn (November 29, 1939 – June 14, 2022) was an American author and music historian, responsible for setting up the Record Research, Inc. series of books on record chart placings.
