Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll
"Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll" is a song by the American hard rock band Kiss, released in 1974. It was released as the only single from their second album '' Hotter Than Hell''. Even though the song failed to chart, it is a staple in their live concerts. The B-side was the album title track, " Hotter Than Hell". Gene Simmons penned the lyrics during a lunch break at his day job, and the song conveys romantic excitement: "'Cause baby's got the feeling/Baby wants a show/Baby won't you tell me/Baby rock & roll, yeah, yeah!". "Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll" became a live favorite for Kiss. Background The song is one of the few Kiss compositions in which lyrics were written before the music. It was based on a riff Paul Stanley had been working on. It was demoed for inclusion on the debut album, but was left off. Despite not being included on the album, it was performed during the Kiss Tour in support of the album. Kiss have played this song live since their early days and it ended their enc ...

Black Diamond (Kiss Song)
"Black Diamond" is a song by American hard rock band Kiss, written by rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley. "'Black Diamond' was written almost exactly as it is," he said, "except that the riff wasn't there; Gene immonsbrought that part in… It's all about arrangement and embellishment. That's what you're supposed to do in a band: come in and add something. But that doesn't mean you wrote the song."Kitts, Jeff: 'Back in black (and white)', ''Guitar World'', September 1996, p79 The song is the closing track on the band's eponymous first album, ''Kiss'', released in 1974. It begins with an acoustic opening sung by Stanley before a furious riff enters, accompanied by Peter Criss on lead vocals. It ends with Ace Frehley's solo, then one chord repeated during a gradual slowing of the tape. The live version is usually sped up in tempo, combined with stage pyrotechnics and a rising drum platform. Appearances "Black Diamond" has appeared on the following Kiss albums: *''Kiss'' - studio ve ...

Double Platinum (Kiss Album)
''Double Platinum'' is the first greatest hits album by the American hard rock band Kiss, released in 1978. Many of the songs on ''Double Platinum'' were remixed and differed from their original versions: in the case of "Strutter," it was re-recorded with a slight disco beat and dubbed "Strutter '78." Other songs ("Hard Luck Woman," "Detroit Rock City") had sections completely removed, while the beginning of " Black Diamond" was repeated at the end, fading out at the start of the first verse and giving the song a "wrap around" feel. The Japanese single release of "Strutter '78" includes a different version to that on the album: faster and shorter, with an altered guitar solo, plus a more prominent hi-hat (cymbal) sound throughout. Release and reception The original vinyl release, in a gatefold sleeve, had an embossed, silver-foiled sleeve, with the band members in bas-relief inside. The album was packaged with a printed "Platinum Award" thanking the Kiss Army for making the ban ...

Alive! (Kiss Album)
''Alive!'' is the fourth album overall, and the first live album, by American hard rock band Kiss. It is considered to be their breakthrough and a landmark for live albums. Released on September 10, 1975, the double-album contains live versions of selected tracks from their first three studio albums, ''Kiss'', '' Hotter Than Hell'' and '' Dressed to Kill''. It was recorded at concerts in Detroit, Michigan; Cleveland, Ohio; Wildwood, New Jersey; and Davenport, Iowa on May 16, June 21, July 20 and 23, 1975. The album's title was a homage to the 1972 live album '' Slade Alive!'' from the English rock group Slade, a band that heavily influenced Kiss. Background From 1974 to 1975, Kiss released three albums: ''Kiss'', '' Hotter Than Hell'', and '' Dressed to Kill''. Although the three albums helped establish a cult following for the band in the Rust Belt, they were commercial failures. Guitarist Paul Stanley attributed the low sales to Kiss' weak sound when they were in the studi ...

Alive/Worldwide Tour
The Alive/Worldwide Tour (also known as the Reunion Tour) was a concert tour by American heavy metal band Kiss which began on June 28, 1996 in Detroit, United States and concluded on July 5, 1997 in London, England. It was the first tour with original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley since the Dynasty Tour in 1979. Background While Kiss continued to exist publicly as Simmons, Stanley, Kulick and Singer, arrangements for a reunion of the original lineup were in the works. These efforts culminated with a public event as dramatic as any the band had staged since its 1983 unmasking on MTV. With those statements, Tupac Shakur introduced the original Kiss lineup, in full makeup and ''Love Gun''-era stage outfits, to a rousing ovation at the 38th Annual Grammy Awards on February 28, 1996: On April 16, 1996, the band members held a press conference aboard the in New York City, where they announced their plans for a full-fledged reunion tour, with the help of new manager Doc McGh ...

Dynasty Tour
The Dynasty Tour was a concert tour by the rock band Kiss. Background The Dynasty Tour, also known as "The Return of Kiss", was the first tour to feature the famous flying stunt by Gene Simmons. This was also the first tour to feature Ace Frehley's "lighted guitar" and his rocket-shooting guitar, where after his smoke-spewing guitar solo, the still-smoking guitar would float up. As it was floating upward, he would appear with another guitar, aim the neck at the floating guitar, shoot the rockets, and blow it up. John Elder Robison, who served as a technician for the band during the late 1970's, documented the lengths he went to create the elaborate effects for the tour. A trick was designed for Paul Stanley that involved his putting on a headset and shooting a laser out of his left eye to mock the effect seen in '' Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park'' the year before. After several runthroughs, both Stanley and manager Bill Aucoin nixed the idea, citing the danger involved. T ...
