Let's Go Peru ( es, Vamos Perú; VP) was a centre-left and social democratic Peruvian political party. Headquartered in Lima, the party mainly operated in the Callao. History Founded in mid-2013 by former Mayor of Callao, Juan Sotomayor, he currently serves a 36 preventive prison sentence as he awaits trial after being syndicated as the head of the ''Rich Port II'' organization, dedicated to the collection of ghost payroll members to the detriment of the Callao Public Cleaning Services company. The organization is also accused of being the author of the alleged crime against property and extortion to the detriment of the ESLIMP-CALLAO (Municipal Private Law Company). The Callao Provincial Attorney for Organized Crime ordered Sotomayor's pretrial detention along other members of the party. Alexander Martin Kouri Bumachar, (born April 7, 1964), known as Alex Kouri, is a Peruvian lawyer and politician. Throughout his career, he has held multiple offices: president of Beneficiencia del Callao (1990), Congressman (1993-1995), three times elected Mayor of the city of Callao and Governor of Callao region. 2018 Peruvian Regional And Municipal Elections
Municipal and regional elections were held in Peru on 7 October 2018. In the election, Peruvians voted for governors, vice governors and regional councilors at a regional level while at a municipal level, citizens voted for mayors and municipal councilors. Those elected took office 1 January 2019 and serve their term until 31 December 2022. Race summary Jorge Muñoz Wells of Popular Action was elected Mayor of Lima. Popular Force, the party of Keiko Fujimori which held the majority in the Congress of the Republic of Peru at the time, saw little success in the elections. Peruvian Aprista Party
The Peruvian Aprista Party ( es, Partido Aprista Peruano, PAP) () is a Peruvian political party and a member of the Socialist International. The party was founded as the American Popular Revolutionary Alliance (APRA) by Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, who originally intended to create a network of anti-imperialist social and political movements in Latin America. Members are called "comrades", based on the fraternity espoused by Haya de la Torre. Cesar Acuña Peralta (born 11 August 1952) is a Peruvian politician and entrepreneur in the field of education. A controversial figure in Peruvian politics, he is the founder and leader of the Alliance for Progress party, which has achieved recognition for being the first party of provincial origin to gain electoral popularity at national level since its foundation in 2001. General elections were held in Peru on 11 April 2021. The presidential election, which determined the president and the vice presidents, required a run-off between the two top candidates, which was held on 6 June. The congressional elections determined the composition of the Congress of Peru, with all 130 seats contested. Pedro Castillo, a member of the left-wing Free Peru party, received the most votes in the first round. Alan García
Alan Gabriel Ludwig García Pérez (; 23 May 1949 – 17 April 2019) was a Peruvian politician who served as President of Peru for two non-consecutive terms from 1985 to 1990 and from 2006 to 2011. He was the second leader of the Peruvian Aprista Party and to date the only party member ever to have served as President. Mentored by the founder of the APRA, Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, he served in the Constituent Assembly of 1978–1979. General elections were held in Peru on 10 April 2016 to determine the president, vice-presidents, composition of the Congress of the Republic of Peru and the Peruvian representatives of the Andean Parliament. In the race for the presidency, incumbent President Ollanta Humala was ineligible for re-election due to constitutional term limits. Popular Force candidate Keiko Fujimori, daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori, was the leading candidate in the first round with almost 40 per cent of the vote, but fell short of the 50 per cent majority required to avoid a second round.
