'' Les chemins de ma maison '' (meaning ''The Paths of My House'') is the fourth French-language studio album by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released in Quebec, Canada on 7 September 1983. It includes the hit song "Mon ami m'a quittée". The album topped the chart in Quebec, was certified Gold in Canada and won the Félix Award for Best Selling Album of the Year. Content ''Les chemins de ma maison'' includes ten songs, mainly co-written by Eddy Marnay, and produced by Marnay and René Angélil. "Ne me plaignez pas" is an adaptation of " Please Don't Sympathise" originally recorded by Sheena Easton, for which Marnay wrote French lyrics for this track. Commercial performance The album got Gold certification in Canada and has sold 100,000 copies. It reached number one in Quebec and stayed at the top of the chart for nine weeks. André Charles Jean Popp (19 February 1924 – 10 May 2014) was a French composer, arranger and screenwriter. Biography Popp was born into a family of German-Dutch background, in Fontenay-le-Comte, Vendée. He started his career as a church organist, filling the place of the abbot who had been called up to serve in World War II in 1939. Popp studied music at the Saint Joseph Institute. In the 1950s he worked for the French radio station RTF, composing music for the ''Club d'Essai'' and, from 1953 to 1960, ''La Bride sur le cou''. He orchestrated a number of Juliette Gréco albums in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Hubert Giraud (composer)
Hubert Yves Adrian Giraud (3 March 1920 – 16 January 2016) was a French composer and lyricist. Career Giraud began his career playing the harmonica with Django Reinhardt's jazz group, the Quintette du Hot Club de France. In 1941, he was recruited by Ray Ventura to play the guitar during Ventura's big-band tour of South America. Six years later, he joined Jacques Hélian's orchestra in scoring a series of post-war romantic comedy films, including Georges Combert's 1951 feature, ''Musique en tête''. His song "Dors, mon amour", performed by André Claveau, won the Eurovision Song Contest 1958. Giraud (with lyricist Pierre Cour) wrote the song "Gitans" ( "Les Gitans"). It was further translated into English by B. Guilgud (a.k.a. Guilgudo) and A. Gill and recorded by Corry Brokken. "Mamy Blue" is a 1970 song by French songwriter Hubert Giraud. Originally written with French lyrics, the song was rendered in English in 1971 to become an international hit for the Pop-Tops, Joël Daydé ( fr) and Roger Whittaker.
