Les Rogers was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1930s. Playing career Rogers made his first grade debut for Eastern Suburbs against Balmain at the Wentworth Park in Round 1 1930 scoring a try in a 26–12 victory. Rogers was selected to play for Metropolis in 1930, the earlier version of the NSW City team. In 1931, Eastern Suburbs finished as minor premiers and Rogers made 15 appearances scoring 12 tries. Sydney Roosters
The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League premiership, New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. The Sydney Rugby League team, known as the City Rugby League team, or Combined Sydney, or Sydney Firsts, or Sydney Capitals, is a representative rugby league team. From 2021, the men's team is to consist of players selected from the New South Wales Rugby League Ron Massey Cup competition to play against a combined team selected from Country, New South Wales competitions. The women's team is selected on a region of origin basis from the NSWRL Women's Premiership. Balmain Tigers
The Balmain Tigers (also known as the Sydney Tigers from 1995–96) are a rugby league club based in the inner-western Sydney suburb of Balmain. They were a founding member of the New South Wales Rugby League and one of the most successful in the history of the premiership, with eleven titles. In 1999 they formed a joint venture club with the Western Suburbs Magpies club to form the Wests Tigers for competition in the National Rugby League (NRL). They no longer field any senior teams in the lower divisions. At the time of the joint venture only South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St George Dragons had won more titles than the Tigers. Wentworth Park
Wentworth Park is a park near the suburbs of Glebe and Ultimo in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The park contains several muti-purpose sporting pitches, cricket nets and a number of fitness installations. There is a playground in the southern area of the park and seating for picnics. Public toilets are next to the sports field. In the centre of the park is the Wentworth Park Sporting Complex. History Wentworth Park was initially a creek and swamp, known from the 1830s as Blackwattle Cove Swamp. Henry Thomas Eyers (1908-1976) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s. Playing career Eyers was born at Redfern, New South Wales on 13 August 1908. Playing career He played in the Souths junior league until he was graded in 1927. He went on to play eight seasons of first grade for the South Sydney club between 1929 and 1936.
