Leone High School
Leone High School is a senior high school in Vailoatai and Leone, in the Western District, American Samoa. It is operated by the American Samoa Department of Education. It is the second-largest high school on Tutuila Island. It was opened in September 1965. It was designed for students from the Western District and transfer students from Manua. Central island and Eastern District students attended the High School of American Samoa at Utulei, later to be known as Samoana High School. Leone High School was the second structure in American Samoa to receive an honor for its design. The same architects, Wimberly, Whisenand, Allison, and Tong of Hawai'i, received their first award for the Governor H. Rex Lee Auditorium. Rainmaker Hotel
Rainmaker Hotel was a 250-room luxury hotel in Utulei, American Samoa, Utulei, Pago Pago, American Samoa. It was the only proper hotel in American Samoa and was operated by the government. The hotel was at its peak in the 1960s and 1970s, when it was known as the Pacific's Intercontinental Hotel. The hotel was dedicated in November 1965. The four-day hotel opening celebrations began with a flag-raising at the Governor's Office on Flag Day (American Samoa), Flag Day, followed by a royal ‘ava ceremony conducted at the Fagatogo malae by Taumafaalofi and Aumaga of Nu'uuli. The parade that followed was the longest in history. Several members of the U.S. Congress attended and the Air Force Band played music. FIFA World Cup
The FIFA World Cup, often simply called the World Cup, is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the ' ( FIFA), the sport's global governing body. Transgender
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Gabriel "Gabe" Reid (born May 28, 1977) is a former American football tight end for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of BYU. Shalimar Seiuli, (July 6, 1976 – April 22, 1998) known professionally as Shalimar or Atisone Seiuli, was an American Samoan transgender dancer and public figure who gained infamy when she was seen getting into the car of the actor Eddie Murphy. On May 2, 1997, Seiuli, a sex worker, was being watched by police before getting into Murphy's SUV. Seiuli was unaware of who the driver was. Vailoatai, American Samoa
Vailoatai is a village in southwestern Tutuila, the main island of American Samoa. It is located on the eastern end of Leone Bay. The village is known for its beautiful malae (ceremonial village-green) nested along the island's rugged southern coast, lined by the fale tali mālō (guest houses) of its village chiefs. The original name of the village was Tuāulu. In 1926, Tuāulu and another village within the district, named Vailoa, combined to form the Vailoa-tai village. Although the whole of the village is named Vailoatai, residents further divide it into Vailoa-uta and Falīlī areas.
