The Florida Gators football program represents the University of Florida (UF) in American college football. Florida competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Jesuit High School is a private Catholic, all-male high school run by the U.S. Central and Southern Province of the Society of Jesus in Tampa, Florida. A halfback (HB) is an offensive position in American football, whose duties involve lining up in the offensive backfield and carrying the ball on most rushing plays, i.e. a running back. Donald G. Gaffney (born February 1, 1954) is an American former college football player and politician. Gaffney was the first African-American to play quarterback for the Florida Gators football team of the University of Florida, and was later elected to the Florida House of Representatives, until he resigned following his conviction for extortion. Biography Gaffney was born on February 1, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida.
