Lenny Sims
Ilenia Elisa Janet "Lenny" Sims (born 10 February 2002) is an English-Italian cricketer who currently plays for Staffordshire. She plays as a right-arm off break bowler. She has previously played for Lightning. She made her international debut for Italy in May 2024. Early life Sims was born on 10 February 2002. She studied at Loughborough University. Her great-great-uncle is former England cricketer Harold Larwood. Domestic career Sims made her county debut in 2015, for Staffordshire against Derbyshire. 2018 was her most successful season for the side, as she took 8 wickets at an average of 13.37 in the County Championship, and was the joint-fourth leading wicket-taker across the whole Twenty20 Cup, with 14 wickets at an average of 9.64. This included her maiden county five-wicket haul, taking 5/8 in a Twenty20 against Cumbria. Off Spin
Off spin is a type of spin bowling in cricket. A bowler who uses this technique is called an off spinner. Off spinners bowl with their right-arm and a finger spin action. Their normal delivery is called an off break, which spins from left to right (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the pitch. For a right-handed batsman, the ball breaks towards them from the off side, hence the name 'off break'. Off spinners bowl mostly off breaks, varying them by adjusting the line and length of the deliveries. Off spinners also bowl other types of delivery, which spin differently. The 2018 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2018 Vitality Women's Twenty20 Cup was the 10th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament. It took place in June and July, with 36 teams taking part: 34 county teams plus Scotland and Wales. Middlesex Women won the Twenty20 Cup, as winners of Division 1, therefore achieving their first title. North West Thunder
North West Thunder, commonly referred to as Thunder, were a women's cricket team that represented Lancashire and North West England, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They played their home matches at various grounds, including Old Trafford Cricket Ground. They were captained by Eleanor Threlkeld and coached by Chris Read. The team carried over many elements of the WCSL team Lancashire Thunder, but were partnered with Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria. At the end of the 2024 season, following reforms to the structure of women's domestic cricket, the team was effectively replaced by a professionalised Lancashire team. The 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy was the first edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, an English women's cricket domestic competition, which took place between 29 August and 27 September 2020. Somerset Women Cricket Team
The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Emily Edgcombe. The 2019 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 23rd cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from late April to the beginning of June and saw 32 county teams and teams representing Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions.
