Leeward Islands Football Association (LIFA) is an association of the football playing nations in Leeward Islands, Leeward archipelago and was founded in 1949. It is affiliated to Caribbean Football Union, CFU. Its main tournament is the Leeward Islands Tournament. Caribbean Football Union
The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) is the representative organization for football associations in the Caribbean. It represents 25 FIFA member nations, as well as 6 territories that are not affiliated to FIFA. The Union was established in January 1978 and its Member Associations compete in the CONCACAF region. The CFU also runs developmental competitions, including a women's and boys' and girls' Challenge Series. Leeward Islands Tournament
The Leeward Islands Football Association (LIFA) was formed in 1949. Of the early tournaments only the winners are known; for the recent ones, the structure is largely unknown. It is also not known whether tournaments were staged in the missing years, though this is likely. Finally, it is not always clear whether teams represent single islands or states (e.g. Saint Kitts/Nevis or Saint Christopher, Antigua/Barbuda or Antigua, etc.). A new edition will be played in August 2014 with 8 teams. Antigua And Barbuda National Football Team
The Antigua and Barbuda national football team is the national team of Antigua and Barbuda and is controlled by the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association, a member of the CONCACAF and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). Sint Maarten National Football Team
The Sint Maarten national football team is the football team of Sint Maarten, the Dutch half of the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, and is controlled by the Sint Maarten Soccer Association. Sint Maarten is not a member of FIFA, and therefore not eligible to enter the World Cup. However, the association applied for FIFA membership in 2016 but was rejected. In April 2022, the Sint Maarten Soccer Association appealed to the CAS against FIFA’s ruling. Montserrat National Football Team
The Montserrat national football team represents the small Caribbean island of Montserrat in the CONCACAF football region. Football is the second most popular sport in Montserrat, after cricket. The team plays at the Blakes Estate Stadium, near the village of Look Out. The Montserrat football team was formed in 1973, and has entered the World Cup qualifiers since the 2002 edition, being eliminated in the first round on each occasion. Due to the heavy volcanic activity on the island since 1995, the team has only played a handful of matches, and most of those have been away from home. The Saint Martin football team is the football team of the Collectivity of Saint Martin, the French half of the island of Saint Martin which was previously part of the French overseas department of Guadeloupe (not to be confused with the team of the Dutch half, the Sint Maarten national football team) and is controlled by the Comité de Football des Îles du Nord.
