Lebanon National Under-20 Football Team
The Lebanon national under-20 football team () is the national under-20 football team of Lebanon and is controlled by the Lebanese Football Association. The team also serves as the national under-19 and national under-18 football teams of Lebanon. While the team has never qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, they have participated twice in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup, in 1973 and in 2008, with their best result being reaching the quarter-finals in the 1973 edition. In the 2021 WAFF U-18 Championship, the U18 team made history by becoming the first Lebanon men's national team to reach a final, losing to hosts Iraq on penalty-shootouts. They also participate in the Arab Cup U-20 and Jeux de la Francophonie, failing to go past the group stage in both competitions. Lebanon Football Association
The Lebanese Football Association (LFA) ( ar, الاتحاد اللبناني لكرة القدم, Al-Ittiḥād Al-Lubnānī Likurat Al-Qadam; french: Fédération Libanaise de Football) is the governing body of association football in Lebanon. Formed in 1933, it is a member of both the AFC and FIFA. It is also one of the founding members of the WAFF, joining in its inception in 2001. History In 1931 Khalil Hilmi, a member of Riyadi Beirut, attempted to form a federation. However, the proposal failed as Nahda opposed its formation. On 22 March 1933, representatives of thirteen football clubs gathered in the Minet El Hosn district in Beirut to form the Lebanese Football Association (LFA). Hussein Sejaan was the LFA's first president. Lebanon was one of the first nations in the Middle East to establish an administrative body for association football. 2022 Arab Cup U-20
The 2022 Arab Cup U-20 was the sixth edition of the Arab Cup U-20. On 14 April 2022, the Union of Arab Football Associations granted Saudi Arabia the right to host. The tournament took place from 20 July to 7 August. Saudi Arabia were the defending champions, having won the previous edition in 2021. Rabih Ataya
Rabih Mohammad Ataya ( ar, ربیع محمد عطایا, ; born 16 July 1989) is a Lebanese professional footballer who plays as a right winger for club Ahed and the Lebanon national team. Starting his career at Tadamon Sour in 2006, Ataya moved to Ansar, where he played for nine seasons. He helped them win a Lebanese FA Cup and a Lebanese Super Cup. In 2016, he moved to Iranian side Zob Ahan; Ataya returned to Lebanon two years later, joining Ahed. He won the 2019 AFC Cup, among other domestic titles. Ataya then moved to Malaysia, on loan to UiTM and Kedah Darul Aman in 2020 and 2021, respectively. He also had a one-match stint at Ajman in the United Arab Emirates. Nour Nayef Mansour ( ar, نور نايف منصور, ; born 22 October 1989) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Ahed and the Lebanon national team. Known for his defensive capabilities, Mansour also offers good attacking options through his aerial threat. Coming through the youth system, Mansour started his career with Safa, with whom he won two league titles, one FA Cup, one Elite Cup, and one Super Cup. In 2016 he moved to reigning Lebanese Premier League champions Ahed, where he won the 2019 AFC Cup. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). FIFA U-20 World Cup
The FIFA U-20 World Cup is the biennial football world championship tournament for FIFA members’ men's national teams with players under the age of 20. The competition has been staged every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1977 when it was hosted by Tunisia, under the tournament name of FIFA World Youth Championship until 2005.
