Leader of the Opposition is a constitutionally sanctioned office in The Bahamas. The Constitution requires that there is a Leader of the Opposition in the House of Assembly of The Bahamas who is appointed by the Governor-General of The Bahamas. Usually the person comes from the largest group in the House of Assembly that is not in government. The position of the Leader of the Opposition was established in 1964. Michael Clifton Pintard (born 3 July 1964) is a Bahamian politician serving as Leader of the Free National Movement and Leader of the Opposition since 27 November 2021. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Marco City since 2017. First appointed in 2010, he served two terms in the Senate.
