Emile's Boat (french: Le Bateau d'Émile) is a 1962 French-Italian drama film directed by Denys de La Patellière and starring Annie Girardot, Lino Ventura and Michel Simon. It is based on the eponymous 1954 novel by Georges Simenon. It was made at the Epinay Studios in Paris while location shooting took place in La Rochelle. The film's sets were designed by the art director Maurice Colasson. La Rochelle
La Rochelle (, , ; Poitevin-Saintongeais: ''La Rochéle''; oc, La Rochèla ) is a city on the west coast of France and a seaport on the Bay of Biscay, a part of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the capital of the Charente-Maritime department. With 75,735 inhabitants in 2017, La Rochelle is the most populated commune in the department and ranks fifth in the New Aquitaine region after Bordeaux, the regional capital, Limoges, Poitiers and Pau. Joseph Georges Roger Pelletier (born June 22, 1945) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played in one NHL game for the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1967–68 NHL season. Pelletier was born in Montreal, Quebec. He played junior hockey with the Quebec Citadelles, the Quebec Aces junior team, and Thetford Mines Aces. He joined the Quebec Aces for a game in 1965–66, then played full-time for the Aces in 1966–67. Pelletier played for Quebec until 1970, when he joined the Richmond Robins. He played for Richmond until February 1974 when he was traded to the Springfield Kings. Édith Scob (21 October 1937 – 26 June 2019) was a French film and theatre actress, best known for her role as the daughter with a disfigured face in '' Eyes Without a Face'' (1960). Early life and family Scob was born Édith Helena Vladimirovna Scobeltzine, the granddaughter of a Russian Army general and White Russian émigré. Her father was an architect and her mother a journalist. Her elder brother, Michel Scob (1935–1995), was a French cycling champion and Olympian. At age 14, she underwent treatment for anorexia. Her love of literature inspired an interest in theatre. Scob was studying French at the Sorbonne and taking drama classes when she was cast in her first role. She and her husband, composer Georges Aperghis, have two sons, Alexander (born 1970) and Jerome (born 1972), both writers.
