Lazybones (1925 Film)
''Lazybones'' is a 1925 American silent romantic drama film produced and directed by Frank Borzage and starring Madge Bellamy, Buck Jones, and Zasu Pitts. It opened in New York City on September 22, 1924, and received wider distribution by Fox Film Corporation during 1925. Plot Set around 1900, the titular Lazybones is in love with Agnes. Her sister, Ruth, returns home with a child and a story about marrying a seaman who was lost at sea. She attempts suicide by jumping in the river, but Lazybones saves her and, taking pity on the child, Kit, adopts her without revealing her true mother. Agnes and Ruth's mother is very strict and when told by Ruth of the child, strikes her with a cane. As the years pass, Ruth dies and Lazybones goes off to World War I. When he returns, intending to marry Kit now that she is grown up, he finds that she is in love with Dick Ritchie. Frances Marion
Frances Marion (born Marion Benson Owens, November 18, 1888 – May 12, 1973) was an American screenwriter, director, journalist and author often cited as one of the most renowned female screenwriters of the 20th century alongside June Mathis and Anita Loos. During the course of her career, she wrote over 325 scripts. She was the first writer to win two Academy Awards. Marion began her film career working for filmmaker Lois Weber. Emily Fitzroy (24 May 1860 – 3 March 1954) was an English theatre and film actress who eventually became an American citizen. She was at one time a leading lady in London for Sir Charles Wyndham. Cinematheque Royale De Belgique
CINEMATEK (Dutch: Koninklijk Belgisch Filmarchief; French: Cinémathèque royale de Belgique; English: Royal Belgian Film Archive) is a film archive in Brussels, Belgium. The archive was established in 1938 under the name Royal Belgian Film Archive by Henri Storck, André Thirifays, and Piet Vermeylen. Its collection include works on film by Man Ray, Duchamp and Léger. As of 2018, the archive held 47,726 films and over a hundred-thousand film materials, with over eight thousand of the items originating from Belgium. The challenges associated with managing the collection were discussed in a 2001 article by Gabrielle Claes who served as director of the archive from 1988 until 2011. Cinematek led the organization of the EXPRMNTL film festival which was run four times: 1949, 1958, 1963, 1967, and 1974.
