Lawrence Dena
Lawrence Dena is an Anglican bishop in Kenya; he is the current Bishop of Malindi. Dena was born in Rabai. He was educated at the Teachers College in Kericho and the Nairobi International School of Theology. He was ordained in 1994 in Mombasa, and served at St. Augustine Mombasa. In 2003 he became a Canon at All Saints' Cathedral, Nairobi. He was consecrated Assistant Bishop of Mombassa in 2005. He was Provincial Secretary to Archbishop Benjamin Nzimbi from 2006 to 2009. All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC, or CETA) is an ecumenical fellowship that represents more than 200 million African Christians in 204 national churches and regional Christian councils in 43 African Countries. Benjamin Nzimbi
Benjamin Paul Mwanzia Nzimbi (born 1945 in Kitui District) is a Kenyan Anglican archbishop. He was the archbishop and primate of the Anglican Church of Kenya and Bishop of the Diocese of All Saints Cathedral, from 2002 to 2009. He is married to Alice Kavula and the couple has five children. He was born in a poor family of eight children and went to attend Ithookwe Primary, Mulutu Intermediary and Kitui School. He later attended Kenyatta University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Education, with majors in Religion and Kishwahili. Afterward, he worked as a lecturer at Machakos Teachers Training College, where he was dean of students and head of social studies. He felt his religious call then and was trained and ordained as the college chaplain. He finally decided to leave teaching to become a full-time priest. An assistant bishop in the Anglican Communion is a bishop appointed to assist a diocesan bishop. Church of England In the established Church of England, assistant bishops are usually retired (diocesan or suffragan) bishops – in which case they are ''honorary assistant bishop''s. Historically, non-retired bishops have been appointed to be assistant bishops – however, unlike a diocesan or suffragan they do not hold a see: they are not the "Bishop of Somewhere".
