The Guam Police Department ( ch, Dipåttamenton Polisian Guåhan) is the law enforcement agency in the United States territory of Guam. Barrigada, Guam
Barrigada ( ch, Barigåda) is a village in the United States territory of Guam. A largely residential municipality, its main village is located south of the Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport near the intersections of Routes 8, 10, and 16. The community east of the airport known as Barrigada Heights is considered an affluent neighborhood on the island, where homes have excellent views overlooking much of Guam including the island's airport and hotels along Tumon Bay. Another significant location is Mount Barrigada, nearly 200 meters above sea level. Guam Insular Guard
The ''Guam Insular Force Guard'' was a former military formation of Guam. It was created in 1901. History After gaining control of Guam during the 1898 Spanish–American War, the United States declared the entire island of Guam a naval installation that led to the US Navy governing the island. On 5 April 1901, President William McKinley created the Insular Force of the U.S. Navy, authorizing the Secretary of the Navy to enlist up to 500 natives of Guam and the Philippines. Originally nine men strong at their formation, the force rose to 85 ratings by 1906 in order to protect U.S. Navy installations in Guam. The strength of the Guard was 110 men organised and uniformed in the manner of the U.S. Navy but received half the pay of the corresponding American naval ratings. Civilians under international humanitarian law are "persons who are not members of the armed forces" and they are not "combatants if they carry arms openly and respect the laws and customs of war".
