Latvia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2010
Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "What For?" written by Jānis Lūsēns and Guntars Račs. The song was performed by Aisha. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final ''Eirodziesma 2010'' in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2010 contest in Oslo, Norway. Ten songs were selected to compete in the national final on 27 February 2010 where two rounds of voting by a public televote and a five-member jury panel selected "What For?" performed by Aisha as the winner. Latvia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 25 May 2010. Performing during for the show in position 6, "What For?" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Aisha (Latvian Singer)
Aija Andrejeva (born 16 January 1986 in Ogre, Latvia, Ogre, Latvia), better known by her stage name Aisha (), is a Latvian singer. Eurovision Song Contest 2010 On 27 February 2010, Aija Andrejeva won the Latvian national final ''Eirodziesma 2010'', and has represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, Norway, with the song What For? Kārlis Lācis (born September 21, 1977) is a Latvian contemporary composer. Along with the scores for theatre productions, movies, and musical arrangements, a large part of his work is dedicated to vocal and choral music, symphonic, and instrumental compositions, including "Te Deum" (2014) with the State Choir Latvija, and double concerto for flute, oboe and orchestra "42.195" (2014) with Liepaja symphony orchestra. Kārlis Būmeisters
Kārlis Būmeisters (born December 13, 1986 in Riga) is a Latvian musician, artist, guitarist and TV host once using the stage name Kaža. He is now in politics in the European Parliament in Brussels as a press secretary for the European Parliament Member Roberts Zīle who is part of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group. Biography From the age of three, Būmeister appeared as a child singer on Latvian television. He eventually hosted the award-winning show ''Lie Lab'' on LTV. Būmeisters' musical career continued with the band Dzeguzīte. Triana Park
Triana Park ( lv, Triānas Parks) is a Latvian group founded in 2008 consisting of lead vocalist and founder Agnese Rakovska, guitarist Artūrs Strautiņš, drummer Edgars Viļums and bassist Kristaps Ērglis. Their style combines pop and electronic with hints of hip-hop and rock. They represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with their song " Line" They also previously attempted to represent the nation in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Mārtiņš Freimanis (7 February 1977 – 27 January 2011) was a Latvian musician, singer, songwriter, actor, and TV personality. Freimanis was born in Liepāja, but spent his childhood in Aizpute. Jānis Liepiņš (born August 7, 1988 in Riga, Latvia) is a Latvian conductor. Since 2014 he has been the conductor at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet (LNO).
