Latin Grammy Awards Of 2010
The 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was the third time the annual event had taken place at this location. The eligibility period for recordings to be nominated was July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. Nominations were announced on September 8, 2010. On September 14, 2010 it was announced that the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year honoree would be Plácido Domingo. The big winners of the night were Camila, Juan Luis Guerra and Gustavo Cerati with three awards. Juan Luis Guerra's ''A Son de Guerra'' was awarded the Album of the Year, the second time he has received this award. " Mientes" by pop band Camila won the Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Mandalay Bay Events Center
The Michelob Ultra Arena, formerly the Mandalay Bay Events Center, is a 12,000-seat multi-purpose indoor arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, and was opened on April 10, 1999. MGM and brewing company Anheuser-Busch entered a naming-rights agreement in 2021, naming the arena after the company's Michelob Ultra beer. It is the home arena for the Las Vegas Aces of the Women's National Basketball Association. In 2022, it will also be home to the Las Vegas Desert Dogs of the National Lacrosse League. Latin Grammy Award For Record Of The Year
The Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year is an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and creates a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to the performers, producers, audio engineers and mastering engineer for new songs in Spanish or Portuguese language. The songs included on an album released the previous year of submission are also eligible only if they have not been submitted to competition before. Instrumental songs are also eligible. Due to the increasing musical changes in the industry, from 2012 the category includes 10 nominees, according to a restructuration made by the academy for the four general categories: Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist and Record of the Year. María Nieves Rebolledo Vila, better known by her stage name Bebe (born 9 May 1978), is a Spanish singer, songwriter, and actress who rose to international fame with the singles "Malo" and "Ella". Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro, better known as Alejandro Sanz (; born 18 December 1968), is a Spanish musician, singer and composer. Sanz has won 22 Latin Grammy Awards and four Grammy Awards. It was released in February 2010 by Warner Music as the first single from his album '' Amar la Trama''. The track was produced by Matías Cella and co-produced by Drexler and Carles Campi Campón. The album was recorded in four days, (November 1–4, 2009) at Cata Studios in Madrid, Spain, a television studio, in front of a small audience who were selected in an online contest. The reason to record the album under this format was to avoid the "coldness" of the recording studio. Jorge Abner Drexler Prada (born September 21, 1964) is a Uruguayan musician, actor and doctor specializing in otolaryngology.
