Lateef Adegbite
Lateef Adegbite (20 March 1933 – 28 September 2012) was a lawyer who became Attorney General of the Western Region of Nigeria, and who later became Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. Birth and education Abdu-Lateef Oladimeji Adegbite was born on 20 March 1933 into a strictly Moslem Egba family in Abeokuta, Ogun State. According to one account, he attended Methodist School, Abeokuta. He says himself that he attended Arabic School, then entered St. Paul's Primary School in Igbore, Abeokuta in 1942, when he was aged nine. Adegbite obtained a scholarship to attend King's College, Lagos, where he was co-founder and first National president of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, graduating in 1956. In 1959 the Western Region Premier Chief Obafemi Awolowo awarded him a scholarship to travel to England to study for a law degree under a plan drafted by Chief F.R.A. Williams. As a member of the ZeroGravity (stunt team), ZeroGravity stunt team since 2000, he has been featured in multiple internet short videos and demo reels, such as ''Inmate 451''. An experienced capoeira practitioner, he started training in martial arts when he was 6 years old. Lateef Elford-Alliyu (born 1 June 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker and is currently unattached. Playing career West Bromwich Albion 'Pan' as he was known to his teammates at West Bromwich Albion was catapulted into the limelight after scoring from the half-way line in a pre-season friendly against Stafford Rangers aged 15. Lateef Kayode Jakande (23 July 1929 – 11 February 2021) was a Nigerian journalist and politician who served as governor of Lagos State from 1979 to 1983, and later Minister of Works under the Sani Abacha military regime. Background Lateef Kayode Jakande was born in the Epetedo area of Lagos Island, Lagos State on July 29, 1929. Both parents are from Omu-Aran, Kwara State. He studied at the Lagos public school at Enu-Owa, Lagos Island, then at Bunham Memorial Methodist School, Port Harcourt (1934–43). He studied at King's College, Lagos in 1943, and then enrolled at Ilesha Grammar School in 1945, where he edited a literary paper called ''The Quarterly Mirror''. Lateef Olalekan Kayode (born March 3, 1983) is a Nigerian professional boxer who challenged for the WBA cruiserweight title in 2015. Professional career On December 3, 2010 Kayode knocked out American Edward Charles Perry on a Showtime boxing card. Kayode showed a much more relaxed demeanor in the ring than in his previous ShoBox appearances. Lateef Daumont, better known by his stage name Lateef the Truthspeaker, or mononymously as Lateef, is a hip hop artist from Oakland, California (United States). He is a member of several hip hop groups such as Latyrx, Lateef and the Chief, and the Mighty Underdogs. He was the founding member of the Solesides collective, which became Quannum Projects. Yusef Abdul Lateef (born William Emanuel Huddleston; October 9, 1920 – December 23, 2013) was an American jazz multi-instrumentalist, composer, and prominent figure among the Ahmadiyya Community in America. Although Lateef's main instruments were the tenor saxophone and flute, he also played oboe and bassoon, both rare in jazz, and non-western instruments such as the bamboo flute, shanai, shofar, xun, arghul and koto. He is known for having been an innovator in the blending of jazz with "Eastern" music. Peter Keepnews, in his ''New York Times'' obituary of Lateef, wrote that the musician "played world music before world music had a name". Fatimah binte Abdul Lateef ( Jawi: فاطمه بنت عبداللتايف; born 16 March 1966) is a Singaporean former politician.
