''Late at Night'' is the third studio album by Spanish rock band Dover. It was released in Europe on 28 June 1999 under Loli Jackson Records and Chrysalis Records. The album was recorded between January and March 1999 at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, Washington. By February 2000, it had reached 300,000 copies sold, being certified 3× platinum. Likewise, it is critically regarded as the band's best album. The first single released was "DJ", which immediately reached number one on the charts. Cristina Llanos (musician)
Cristina Llanos Fayos (born 3 December 1975) is a Spanish musician, singer, guitarist and songwriter. She was the lead vocalist and principal songwriter of the Spanish rock band Dover. Biography She attended Virgen de Europa School in Boadilla del Monte, and she left it after repeating the course at 18 years old. After living six months in London, she worked in clothing stores that her mother run in a mall of Majadahonda. She is the younger sister of Amparo Llanos, guitarist and band leader of Dover, who influenced her by teaching her to play the guitar and introducing her to bands like The Beatles, R.E.M. or Nirvana. She began her career in 1992 with her sister Amparo and Jesús Antúnez. They found a bassist ( Alvaro Díez) and recorded the album "Sister", which was a great disappointment, selling only 700 copies. Dover () is a town and major ferry port in Kent, South East England. It faces France across the Strait of Dover, the narrowest part of the English Channel at from Cap Gris Nez in France. It lies south-east of Canterbury and east of Maidstone. The town is the administrative centre of the Dover District and home of the Port of Dover. Archaeological finds have revealed that the area has always been a focus for peoples entering and leaving Britain. The name derives from the River Dour that flows through it. The Compact Cassette or Musicassette (MC), also commonly called the tape cassette, cassette tape, audio cassette, or simply tape or cassette, is an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback. Invented by Lou Ottens and his team at the Dutch company Philips in 1963, Compact Cassettes come in two forms, either already containing content as a prerecorded cassette (''Musicassette''), or as a fully recordable "blank" cassette. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. In August 1982, the first compact disc was manufactured. It was then released in October 1982 in Japan and branded as ''Compact Disc Digital Audio, Digital Audio Compact Disc''. The format was later adapted (as CD-ROM) for general-purpose data storage. Stephen Marcussen
Stephen Marcussen is the founder and chief mastering engineer at Marcussen Mastering in Hollywood, California, United States. He has been mastering music since 1979. Biography Marcussen's introduction to music recording happened in 1976 when, at the age of 19, he was offered a janitor position at Studio 55, record producer Richard Perry's Los Angeles recording studio. At Studio 55, Marcussen received an education in all facets of music recording and sound production. By the end of his Studio 55 tenure, he had earned his first album credits as an assistant engineer, working on The Manhattan Transfer's ''Pastiche'', Boz Scaggs's ''Middle Man'', and The Pointer Sisters's ''Special Things''. Jesús Antúnez (musician)
Jesús Antúnez (born 25 December 1973) is a Spanish musician, DJ, producer and drummer of the Spanish rock band Dover (band), Dover. Biography Jesús was born in Badajoz, where he attended at High School until 15. He left it because he needed to work. At 17 years old, he started playing drums, having influences as Dave Grohl, Matt Cameron and Dave Abbruzzese. He moved to Madrid in 1992 where, by an advert published in a newspaper by Cristina Llanos, he joined the music group Dover. Later he would become partner of Amparo for a couple of years; even with the breakup as a couple they remained in the group. He organized his time working and playing for the group, until one day he met Julio Ruiz, director of the radio program Disco Grande from RNE Radio 3, Radio 3, whom he asked a favor to play a demo of the group.
