Larry Thomas (born Larry Tomashoff; October 27, 1956) is an American actor, best known for his guest role as Yev Kassem/the Soup Nazi on ''Seinfeld'', for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award. In addition to making personal appearances as the Soup Nazi, Thomas has appeared in a number of films, TV shows, and commercials, and appears at autograph-signing shows across the country. Early life Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York to a Jewish family of Russian and Romanian background. Career Acting Prior to acting, Thomas had jobs as a bail bondsman, bartender, and janitor. He is best known for his role as Yev Kassem in the "Soup Nazi" episode of the television sitcom ''Seinfeld''. According to an interview, Thomas, who was a huge fan of the series, attended his audition in character in a military uniform, and won the role by improvising his now-famous line, "No soup for you!" Larry Thomas (baseball)
Larry Wayne Thomas Jr. (born October 25, 1969) is an American retired professional baseball pitcher. During his three seasons in the major leagues (1995–1997), he played for the Chicago White Sox. Amateur career Born in Miami, Florida, Thomas played college baseball for the University of Maine Black Bears under head coach John Winkin. In 1990, he played collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, where he was named outstanding pitcher at the league's annual all-star game. In 1991, he was named conference pitcher of the year. Professional career Thomas was drafted by the White Sox in the 2nd round of the 1991 amateur draft, and played that year with the Class A (Short Season) Utica Blue Sox and Double-A Birmingham Barons. He made his major league debut with the White Sox in 1995. In 1996, he appeared in 57 games for Chicago, posting a 3.23 earned run average. Lawrence Jones (born January 25, 1984) is an American professional wrestler and promoter. He is best known for his time with Impact Wrestling, where he performed under the ring name Larry D. Larry Thomas (April 13, 1936 – January 25, 1965) was a NASCAR Grand National Series driver from Thomasville, North Carolina. Thomas died in a non-racing related car crash during the start of the 1965 NASCAR season. Driving career Larry Thomas began his racing career in 1956 driving hobby stocks and modifieds at Bowman-Gray Stadium. He began his NASCAR career in 1961 driving for Wade Younts. His best finish was seventh at South Boston Speedway. During the 1962 season, Thomas encountered a significant number of mechanical failures which marred him in seventeenth place in the standings. His 1963 campaign did not fare much better as he ended up twenty-second in the point standings. 1964 was Thomas' breakout season. Though he still suffered quite a few mechanical failures throughout the season, he finished eighth in the final point standings and earned a career-best second-place finish at Hickory Speedway. Larry Thomas ( – June 11, 2018) was an American political journalist and press secretary. Early life Thomas was born in San Diego, California. He graduated from San Diego State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. Career Thomas began his career at United Press International, followed by KPBS and Copley Press. He later became a political journalist for '' The San Diego Union-Tribune''. Thomas worked as an advisor to San Diego Mayor Pete Wilson in the 1970s, followed by California Governor George Deukmejian from 1982 to 1987. In March 1987, Vice President George H. W. Bush hired him as his press secretary during his presidential campaign, but Thomas left after only three months, citing "complex personal reasons". He was also an advisor to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Thomas worked as corporate communications director for the Irvine Company from 1987 to 2007.
