	Larry Dixon (fantasy Artist) Larry Dixon (born July 28, 1966) is an American fantasy artist and novelist. Background Dixon, the son of a Delta Force career commando, studied at The North Carolina School of the Arts and at Savannah College of Art & Design. 	Larry Dixon (dragster Driver) Larry Dixon Jr. (born October 23, 1966) is an American professional drag racer in the NHRA. Larry is the son of Larry Dixon Sr., who won Top Fuel Eliminator at the 1970 NHRA Winternationals. 1980s and 1990s Dixon's NHRA career began when he was a worker for a team owned by Larry Minor that had Gary Beck as driver. Dixon began his long friendship with Don "The Snake" Prudhomme in 1988 while working on Prudhomme's Funny Car. In 1994, he earned his Top Fuel license with 4.76-second pass at Gatornationals at Gainesville, Florida. In 1995, his rookie season, he earned Rookie of the Year honors. That season became third rookie to win $100,000 Budweiser Shootout, the first Top Fuel rookie to win at Indianapolis since Gary Beck in 1972 and set NHRA's elapsed time record at Englishtown. 	Larry Dixon (politician) Larry Dean Dixon (August 31, 1942 – December 4, 2020) was an American politician who was a Republican member of the Alabama Senate. Political career Dixon represented the 25th District from 1983 to 2010. He did not seek re-election in 2010 and retired from elective politics. Previously he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 1978 through 1982. In 1982, as a Democrat in District 81, he defeated later District 73 Representative Perry O. Hooper Jr., of Montgomery. Just a few months after being sworn into the state senate, Dixon switched parties and became a Republican. Regardless of party affiliation, Dixon never had any trouble at the ballot box. His lowest margin was 74 percent in what would be his last bid for reelection, one of only four times that he even faced opposition during his four decades in the capital. 	Lawrence Dixon (musician) Lawrence William "Beau" Dixon (September 5, 1894 – January 16, 1970) was an American jazz banjoist and guitarist, best known for his association with Earl Hines. Dixon was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of William Dixon (1875-1933) and Nettie A. Scott (1871-1929), both natives of Chillicothe, Ohio. Dixon was the second of five children. His father was a farm laborer and part-time musician, from whom Dixon learned to play music from an early age. From ca. 1923 to 1928 he played in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio with Sammy Stewart's Ten Knights of Syncopation, which recorded for Paramount Records. he also worked with Vance Dixon's Jazz Maniacs (1926-1927), Fess Williams (1928), Dave Peyton, Paul Jordan, Clarence Moore, and Grant Williams. In 1931 he joined Earl Hines's band and remained with him until 1937 as rhythm guitarist and arranger. 	Larry Dickson Larry Dickson (born September 8, 1938, Marietta, Ohio), is a former driver in the USAC and CART Championship Car series. He raced in the 1965-1981 seasons, with 105 combined career starts, including the Indianapolis 500 in 1966-1969, 1971, 1978–1979, and 1981. He finished in the top ten 44 times, with his best finish in 2nd position in 1968 at Springfield. Dickson was also a 3 time USAC Sprint Car Series Champion in 1968, 1970 and 1975. Larry won 43 USAC Sprint car races and was the all-time leader in the division until Tom Bigelow broke his record. In the years 1968-71 Larry and Gary Bettenhausen raced each other in what was billed as "The Larry and Gary Show" or "Thunder (Bettenhausen) and Lightning (Dickson)" exchanging the USAC Sprint Car title between each other during those years.
