Jacques Philippe Lantier
Jacques-Philippe Lantier (July 21, 1814 – September 15, 1882) was a Quebec businessman, author and political figure. He represented Soulanges in the House of Commons of Canada as a Conservative member from 1872 to 1882. Some sources also sometimes spell his surname Lanthier. He was born at Saint-Polycarpe, Lower Canada in 1814 and studied at the Séminaire de Nicolet and the Petit Séminaire de Montréal. Lantier owned a store at Saint-Polycarpe. Raymond Lantier
Raymond François Lantier (11 July 1886, Lisieux – 2 April 1980, Le Vésinet, digitized public records of the town of Lisieux, 1886, birth certificate No. 190 and its marginal mention of death, view 50 of digitization. The father was a physician.) was a 20th-century French archaeologist. Biography He has researched and studied the ( Pyrénées-Orientales), Spain and Tunisia, in particular participating in the excavations of Carthage. He was assistant curator in 1926, then Chief curator from 1933 to 1956, of the National Archaeological Museum at Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Meanwhile, he officiated as a professor of national and prehistoric antiquities in the École du Louvre. Pierre Lantier
Pierre Lantier (30 April 1910 – 4 April 1998) was a French composer and pianist, and the husband of fellow composer Paule Maurice. Born in Marseilles, Lantier was affiliated with the Conservatoire de Paris. In 1937, he won the prestigious Prix de Rome composition scholarship (a prize he shared with Victor Serventi). One of Lantier's most widely known works is a ''Sicilienne'' for alto saxophone and piano. His many other chamber-music pieces include ''Andante et Scherzetto,'' for saxophone quartet; an ''Introduction, Romance, et Allegro,'' for bass trombone and piano; a sonata for trumpet and piano; and ''Euskaldunak,'' a sonata for alto saxophone and piano. His larger-scale compositions include a Requiem (premiered in 1981), as well as three works for piano and orchestra. His music continues to be championed by present-day conductor Patrick Botti.
