Landesliga Schleswig-Holstein
The Landesliga Schleswig-Holstein is the sixth tier of the German football league system and the second-highest league in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, supplanting the Verbandsligen at that level in the state. Overview The Landesliga was relaunched to start play in the 2017–18 season as part of realignments in the league system of Schleswig-Holstein and as a solution to the problem of many teams promoted to the ''Verbandsliga'' ending up relegated or withdrawn after one season. The league is divided into two divisions of 16 clubs each, Schleswig (north-west) and Holstein (south-east), and teams promoted to or relegated from it will be assigned to a division based on geographical proximity, a practice called "flexible game operation" (german: flexibler Spielbetrieb). Landesliga
The Landesliga ( en, Football State League) is a tier of football in some states of the German football league system. In Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia, Bremen, Lower Saxony and Hamburg, the Landesligas are set right below the Oberliga and therefore are the sixth tier. The reason for this is that Bavaria, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, and Bremen are the only places in Germany where the Oberliga, the State, and the Verband are geographically the same, while the other two states simply chose to call their leagues ''Landesligas'' when establishing them in 1990. In the Middle Rhine and Lower Rhine regions of North Rhine-Westphalia it is also, since 2012, the sixth tier. COVID-19 Pandemic In Germany
The COVID-19 pandemic in Germany has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. On 27 January 2020, the first case in Germany was confirmed near Munich, Bavaria. By mid February, the arising cluster of cases had been fully contained. On 25 and 26 February, multiple cases related to the Italian outbreak were detected in Baden-Württemberg. A carnival event on 15 February in Heinsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, was attended by a man identified as positive on 25 February; in the outbreak which subsequently developed from infected participants, authorities were mostly no longer able to trace the likely chains of infections. On 9 March, the first two deaths in Germany were reported from Essen and Heinsberg. VfB Lübeck is a German association football club playing in Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein in the country's north. TSV Altenholz is a German football club from the city of Altenholz, Schleswig-Holstein. History The club was established as the gymnastics club ''Turn- und Sportverein Altenholz'' on 1 May 1948 and did not form a football department until nearly two decades later on 29 June 1966. Southern Schleswig
Southern Schleswig (german: Südschleswig or ', da, Sydslesvig; frr, Söödslaswik) is the southern half of the former Duchy of Schleswig in Germany on the Jutland Peninsula. The geographical area today covers the large area between the Eider river in the south and the Flensburg Fjord in the north, where it borders Denmark. Northern Schleswig, congruent with the former South Jutland County, forms the southernmost part of Denmark. The area belonged to the Crown of Denmark until Prussia and Austria declared war on Denmark in 1864.
