Lake Mashū
(Ainu language, Ainu: Kamuy-to) is an endorheic Volcanic crater lake, crater lake formed in the caldera of a potentially active volcano. Mount Kamui (Lake Mashū Caldera)
, also Kamuinupuri or Mount Mashū, a potentially active volcano, is a parasitic cone, parasitic stratovolcano of the Lake Mashū, Mashū caldera (itself originally a parasitic cone of Lake Kussharo) located in the Akan National Park of Hokkaido, Japan. In volcanology, a lava dome is a circular mound-shaped protrusion resulting from the slow extrusion of viscous lava from a volcano. Lake Kussharo
is a caldera lake in Akan National Park, eastern Hokkaidō, Japan. As with many geographic names in Hokkaidō, the name derives from the Ainu language. Parasitic Cone
A parasitic cone (also adventive cone or satellite cone) is the cone-shaped accumulation of volcanic material not part of the central vent of a volcano. It forms from eruptions from fractures on the flank of the volcano. These fractures occur because the flank of the volcano is unstable.
