Lagos State Governor's House
Lagos State House, is the official residence of the governor of Lagos State. Lagos State has two governor's residences, one at Marina in Lagos Island and another at Ikeja on the Mainland. Both residences are used for official and residential purposes. While all previous governors in Lagos State has lived in the Lagos State House at Marina, the past governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode is the first governor to live in the Lagos State House in Ikeja. The governor moved into the Ikeja residence on resumption of office as the governor of Lagos State on 29 May 2015, the governor cited punctuality as one of the reason for his movement to the Ikeja Governor's House. The governor's lodge at Ikeja was commissioned in 2007 by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, although the building was started in 1988 by Late Admiral Mike Akhigbe. Lagos State Government
Lagos State Government is the government of Lagos State, concerned with the administration of the state ministries. The government consists of the executive, legislative and Judiciary. The government is headed by the Governor who is the policy-maker and often assisted by the commissioners and other civil servants of the state. Office of the Governor The Office of the Governor was created along with the creation of the state in 1967. It is currently headed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is the fifteenth Governor of the State. Babajide Sanwo-Olu
Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (born 25 June 1968) is a Nigerian politician and the current Governor of Lagos State. He became governor under the platform of the All Progressives Congress after contesting and unexpectedly winning the gubernatorial primaries under the All Progressives Congress against incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State in October 2019. He is a graduate of the University of Lagos, as well as the London Business School, Lagos Business School and the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Lagos State ( yo, Ìpínlẹ̀ Èkó) is a States of Nigeria, state in South West (Nigeria), southwestern Nigeria. Ikeja
Ikeja is the capital city of Lagos State in southwestern Nigeria. Its population, as of the 2006 census, is 313,196. Prior to the emergence of military rule in the early 1980s, Ikeja was a well planned, clean and quiet residential and commercial town with shopping malls, pharmacies and government reservation areas. The governor of Lagos State is the head of government of Lagos State in Nigeria. The governor leads the executive branch of the Lagos State Government. This position places its holder in leadership of the state with command authority over the state affairs. The Governor is frequently described to be the number one citizen of the state. Lagos Island
Lagos Island (''Ìsàlẹ̀ Èkó'') is the principal and central local government area (LGA) in Lagos, it was the capital of Lagos State until 1957. It is part of the Lagos Division. As of the preliminary 2006 Nigerian census, the LGA had a population of 209,437 in an area of 8.7 km2. The LGA only covers the western half of Lagos Island; the eastern half is simply referred to as Lagos Island East LCDA. Akinwunmi Ambode (born 14 June 1963) is a Nigerian politician who served as Governor of Lagos State from 2015 to 2019. He was a civil servant for 27 years and a financial consultant before running for public office. Ambode ran for office of the Governor of Lagos State in April 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress, the state's ruling party. Bola Tinubu
Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu (born 29 March 1952) is a Nigerian accountant and politician who served as the Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and Senator for Lagos West during the brief Third Republic. Presidential Lodge
The Presidential Lodge is the former presidential palace located at the Marina in Lagos, Nigeria. It was constructed during the British colonial time. After the federal government moved to Abuja in 1991 the palace lost its function as the new seat of the president became Aso Villa. The former residence was handed over to the Government of Lagos State in 2017.
