Ramón de la Fuente Leal, nicknamed Lafuente (31 December 1907 – 15 September 1973) was a Spanish association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward for Athletic Bilbao, Atlético Madrid and the Spain national football team, Spanish national team. Club career He was born in Bilbao. Lafuente began his sporting career in the ranks of Barakaldo CF in 1924, at the age of just 16 years old. At Barakaldo, he stood out as an extraordinary forward, which eventually earned him a move to Athletic Bilbao in 1926, with whom he played for nine seasons. In 1928 he was one of the members of the Athletic Bilbao team that played in the first season of the La Liga, Spanish Football League. At Bilbao, he was the most experienced member of what became a famous and successful forward line, along with José Iraragorri, Chirri II, Agustín Sauto Arana, Bata and Guillermo Gorostiza. Abelardo Lafuente García-Rojo
Abelardo Lafuente Garcia-Rojo (30 April 1871 in Fuentidueña de Tajo – 1931 in Shanghai) was a Spanish architect and entrepreneur who had his own studio in colonial Shanghai. Between 1913 and 1931 he was the only Spaniard to have an architect studio registered in the city; Lafuente collaborated with several contemporary architects. Lafuente blended the mozarab and moorish styles from Spain into Chinese architecture. In 2009, the Spanish architect Alvaro Leonardo Perez established the ''Lafuente Research Project''. The findings of this project were first presented at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010 in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes. The Lafuente Research Project is ongoing. Ander Lafuente Aguado (born 18 February 1983) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Lafuente was born in Santurtzi, Biscay. After unsuccessfully emerging through the youth ranks of Athletic Bilbao – he only played for affiliates CD Basconia and Bilbao Athletic – he signed with third division side FC Cartagena in 2005. Loaned to fellow league team Granada CF for 2008–09 and experiencing a solid season albeit with no promotion, Lafuente returned to Cartagena the following summer, with the club now in the second tier. Iñaki Lafuente Sancha (born 24 January 1976) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He appeared in 146 La Liga games over ten seasons, mainly with Athletic Bilbao.
