Tim Mei Avenue
Tim Mei Avenue () is a street in Admiralty, Hong Kong. The street is built on land reclaimed as part of the Central Reclamation Phase II, which was completed in 1997 and reclaimed 5.3 hectares of land at the former Tamar naval base. The area was subsequently known as the Tamar site. Tim Mei Avenue connects Harcourt Road and Lung Wo Road (龍和道). The position was created in 2007 to replace portions of the previous portfolio of Secretary for Economic Development and Labour and welfare portion from Secretary for Food and Health. The Social Welfare Department () is a department of the Hong Kong Government responsible for providing welfare services to the community. Responsibilities The department provides services to families and children, the elderly, recovering criminal offenders, drug abusers, street sleepers, persons with disabilities, the mentally ill, and the community at large. It administers social security schemes, including the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance, which forms a large portion of its annual expenses. Subjected to legal regulations, the Hong Kong Disciplined Services are made up of the following:- The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) reports directly to the Chief Executive. Although they are not typically uniformed, they are considered as a regular force. Much of their work is classified. They treat the identity of the complainant in strict confidence (try to keep it confidential). After lodging a complaint to the ICAC, the complainant cannot disclose the identity of the subject person.
