Román Viñoly Barreto (8 August 1914 – 20 August 1970) was a Uruguayan-Argentine film director. Biography Viñoly Barreto directed 28 feature films between 1947 and 1966 including ''The Black Vampire'', '' Paper Boats'', the 1954 film '' El Abuelo'' which starred Enrique Muino and Mecha Ortiz and Esta Es Mi Vida starring Miguel de Molina. His 1958 film ''Los dioses ajenos'' was entered into the 8th Berlin International Film Festival. His 1965 film ''La pérgola de las flores'' was entered into the 4th Moscow International Film Festival. Two years later, he was a member of the jury of the 5th Moscow International Film Festival. He was also a notable screenwriter, theater and opera director. Personal life The director was the father of architect Rafael Viñoly, artist Daniel Viñoly, and Dr. Ana Maria de la Merced Viñoly. Guillermo Battaglia (December 7, 1899September 26, 1988) was a prolific Argentine film actor of the classic era of Argentine cinema. Born in Buenos Aires, he began his film career in 1937 in ''Melodías porteñas''. Battaglia starred in over 100 films between then and 1987. He was one of the most prolific supporting actors during this entire period, notably in Roberto Cossa's ''La nona'' (1979), David Lipszyc's ''Volver'' (1982), Alberto Fischerman's ''Los días de junio'' (1985), and the Best foreign film oscar-winning ''The Official Story'' in 1985. María Miterloi Hernández (24 March 1930 – 11 June 1993), better known by her stage name Maruja Montes, was a Brazilian-born Argentine actress and vedette who performed during the middle part of the 20th century. Biography Montes was born on 24 March 1930 in São Paulo, Brazil. She came to Argentina with her mother, María Magdalena Rosario Garrido, and brother Agustín Hernández and became a naturalized Argentine citizen. She was a showgirl in the burlesque and comedy theaters of Argentina in the 1950s and made ten films. She committed suicide on 11 June 1993 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
