La Macchinazione
''La macchinazione'' (''The Plot'') is a 2016 Italian biographical drama film directed by David Grieco, starring Massimo Ranieri and based on the last hours of Pier Paolo Pasolini's life before his murder. Ranieri, who portrays Pasolini, met the poet when he was young and Pasolini himself was very surprised by the physical similarity between the two of them. Plot In the summer of 1975, the writer and film director Pier Paolo Pasolini is completing his latest film ''Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom'', and has started writing a political essay, ''Petrolio'' (''Oil''). Meanwhile, he begins a dalliance with the young Giuseppe 'Pino' Pelosi, a rent boy with a criminal record. According to the film, the youngster and his accomplices steal some reels of Pasolini's latest film, which they offer to return in exchange for a large ransom. David Grieco
David Grieco (born 19 September 1951) is an Italian director, screenwriter and former actor. Biography Grandson of Ruggero Grieco, one of the founders of the Italian Communist Party, Grieco began his movie career as an actor and worked with directors such as Franco Zeffirelli and his two mentors Pier Paolo Pasolini and Bernardo Bertolucci. Libero De Rienzo (February 24, 1977 – July 15, 2021) was an Italian film actor, director, and screenwriter. Career De Rienzo was born in Naples and raised in Rome. In 2001, De Rienzo appeared in three films: ''Fat Girl'', ''Gioco con la morte'', and '' Santa Maradona''. He received a David di Donatello award for best supporting actor for his work in ''Santa Maradona''. In 2004, De Rienzo starred in ''A/R andata+ritorno''. Milena Vukotic (, ; born 23 April 1935) is an Italian former ballerina and a stage, television, and film actress. Biography Vukotic was born in Rome, to a Serb Montenegrin comedy playwright father and an Italian pianist/composer mother. As a child she studied acting and classical dance, in Italy and France. Massimo Ranieri (born Giovanni Calone on 3 May 1951) is an Italian singer, actor, television presenter and director. Biography Early life Ranieri was born in Naples ( at Santa Lucia), the fifth of eight children in the family. When he was 10, young Giovanni would sing at restaurants, wedding receptions, etc. He was discovered by a music producer about four years later and was flown to New York to record an EP under the name of Gianni Rock.
