''La criada bien criada'' ("The Well-Made Maid") is a 1972 Mexican comedy film based on the television series of the same name. It was directed by Fernando Cortés and stars María Victoria and Guillermo Rivas. Plot Inocencia has left her ''pueblo'' to find a job at Mexico City. In Mexico City, Inocencia meets two men, a deliveryman and a postman, who fight for her love. The postman finds a babysitting job for Inocencia. Inocencia has to take care of Bebito, who is more "grown up" than she expected. Fernando Cortés
Fernando "Papi" Cortés (October 4, 1909 – 1979) was a Puerto Rican film actor, writer and director. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but he spent most of his adult life in Mexico City, where he died. On 1932, while in New York City, Fernando Cortés married Puerto Rican childhood friend María del Pilar Cordero, who adopted the stage name of Mapy Cortés. The couple soon traveled to Spain with a Cuban theatrical troupe. They worked on the Spanish stage, radio and film until the outbreak of the Civil War in 1936. Fernando progressively began to take a backseat as actor and baritone and focused on promoting the career of his wife Mapy, who became a noted ''vedette'' (showgirl with star status) in Barcelona. María Victoria Gutiérrez Cervantes (born 26 February 1927 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a Mexican actress, singer, and comedian. She is best known for starring in the Telesistema Mexicano sitcom ''La criada bien criada'' and its 1972 La criada bien criada, spin-off film of the same name as maid Inocencia. Guillermo Rivas Rowlatt (December 25, 1926 – March 19, 2004) was a Mexican character actor known for portraying "El Borras" in the Telesistema Mexicano sitcom ''Los Beverly de Peralvillo'' (1968–1973). Early life Rivas was born in Mexico City, Mexico, his father was Antonio Ribas Murphy (1901–1945) a Catalan, his mother was Maria Luisa Rowlatt Romana (1910–1983) British descendant. Career His first role in a film was in 1938, aged only eleven years old, ''The Cemetery of the Eagles'' starring Jorge Negrete. Xavier López Rodríguez (born February 17, 1935), better known as "Chabelo", is a Mexican American actor, comedian, television presenter and children's music singer who has been working on television for over sixty years. "Chabelo" has participated in more than thirty motion pictures and recorded more than thirty musical albums. He also has produced many shows like ''La Cuchufleta'' and ''La Güereja Quiere Más''. However, his most famous TV show was ''En Familia con Chabelo'', which was broadcast every Sunday morning on Televisa's Canal de las Estrellas.
