In the 1880s, he founded ''La Verité'', a weekly newspaper extolling his religious, political and social beliefs. Perennial topics included conspiracy theories (typically aimed at Freemasons, socialists, communists, freethinkers, or any combination thereof), conservative Roman Catholic dogma, the domination of Quebec by English Canada, and the subversive effects of the Boy Scout movement. La Vérité (Trotskyist Journal)
''La Vérité'' (''The Truth'') is the first trotskyst publication of History, having its first issue published on August 15, 1929, in French. Its name refers to Pravda, which means Truth, and was chosen because Trotskyists believed that the French labor movement needed "Truth therapy". Initially built by Trotsky, it has gone through several phases in its years of existence. Created to fight against the bureaucratization of the French Communist Party, it became a reference for the labor movement in that country, always being published by organizations linked to Trotskyism. During the Occupation of France by Nazi Germany, it was published clandestinely, becoming the first publication of the French Resistance, and carrying out emblematic campaigns, such as the fight against the Compulsory Work Service deportations and anti-Semitism. In the early 1970s it began to be published in other languages, such as Portuguese, English and Spanish, and in 1990 it became the Theoretical Rev ...

La Vérité (Niagara Album)
''La Vérité'' was the last album by Niagara. Niagara was one of the few French bands who had success and critical acclaim outside France despite not singing in English, because of this they embarked on an international tour in 1991 which included many sold out concerts. Based on this success, Polydor decided to spare no expense on ''La Vérité'' which was recorded with a big band consisting of 45 musicians and had a special jewel case with a relief of the logo of the band on the cover. The album was dark with an apocalyptic sound, sometimes bordering on hard rock with ballads intermixed and deals with subjects like the state of the planet, the weird role of the media, the problems of being accepted and being a woman. Up to now they were known for an acid rock sound which was reasonably happy. The change of theme resulted in an album which didn't go straight to #1 like their previous two albums, . The album was nevertheless certified Gold. On the personal side, the relation ...

La Vérité Sortant Du Puits
''La Vérité sortant du puits armée de son martinet pour châtier l'humanité'' (English: ''Truth coming from the well armed with her whip to chastise mankind'') is an 1896 painting by the French artist Jean-Léon Gérôme. Overview Beginning in the mid-1890s, in the last decade of his life, Gérôme made at least four paintings personifying Truth as a nude woman, either thrown into, at the bottom of, or emerging from a well. The imagery arises from a translation of an aphorism of the philosopher Democritus, "Of truth we know nothing, for truth is in a well". (Greek ἐτεῇ δὲ οὐδὲν ἴδμεν: ἐν βυθῷ γὰρ ἡ ἀλήθεια, ''eteêi dè oudèn ídmen: en buthô gàr hē alḗtheia'', iterally"in reality we know nothing; for the truth is in an abyss".) The nudity of the model may arise from the expression ''la vérité nue'', "the naked truth". At the Champs Elysées Salon of 1895, Gérôme showed a painting entitled ''Mendacibus et histrionibus occ ...
