LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, also called LA Plaza is a Mexican-American museum and cultural center in Los Angeles, California, USA that opened in April 2011. The museum contains interactive exhibits designed by experience design expert Tali Krakowsky such as a reconstruction of a 1920s Main Street. The museum shares the stories of the history, cultures, values, and traditions of Mexicans, Mexican Americans, and all Latinos in Los Angeles and Southern California. The museum programs include exhibitions, educational programs, and public programming. The museum is near Olvera Street in the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic District, also called El Pueblo. It is next to La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora Reina de los Angeles, also called La Placita or Plaza Church. The buildings are from the 1880s, some of the oldest in the city, the Vickrey-Brunswig Building and the Plaza House (1883). La Plaza, originally Palm Springs Plaza, is a on-street, open-air shopping center at the heart of downtown Palm Springs, California. It is located between the main southbound artery through downtown, South Palm Canyon Drive, and the northbound artery, Indian Canyon Drive, along a divided road called La Plaza, with storefronts on all of those streets as well as on the north backside (Tahquitz Canyon) and south backside (Arenas). History Palm Springs Plaza, as it was then called, opened November 1, 1936, one of the first shopping centers in Southern California with a single developer, owner and a uniform appearance, after Westwood Village (1929). La Plaza Cultural de Armando Perez (La Plaza Cultural) is an iconic community garden and public green space located in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. A community garden, park, playground, wildlife refuge, urban farm, community composting site, and performance venue, La Plaza Cultural is also utilized by local day-care centers, after-school programs and a growing number of parents with small children. The garden has been known to grow a number of various edible plants including fruits, vegetable, and herbs. The lot is approximately 0.64 acres and consists of at least 11 members. La Plaza Mall
La Plaza Mall is a regional shopping mall located in McAllen, Texas, at the intersection of Interstate 2 (US 83, Expressway 83) and 10th Street. It has of gross leasable area and features 184 specialty stores, many of which are flagship stores, and restaurants. The mall is one of the highest-grossing operated by Simon, and the largest mall in south Texas. An original tenant of the mall was a F. W. Woolworth Company, Woolworth dime store, the second in McAllen, which closed in 1997. 1998 expansion brought Dillard's as an additional anchor. Another original tenant was a Jones & Jones department store, which was sold to Foley's in 2000 and again to Macy's in 2006. The Opera House is a music venue in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is one of the city's most historic performing venues, opening in 1909. It has also been a cinema and a live theatre venue. It is located at 735 Queen Street East, east of downtown in the Riverdale neighbourhood. History The building opened in 1909 as the La Plaza Theatre, an Edwardian vaudeville stage. Seating almost 700, it was the main entertainment venue in the primarily working-class neighbourhood. As films eclipsed vaudeville, the theatre was turned into a cinema, continuing to use the name La Plaza Theatre until the 1960s, and later under a series of other names.
