La Furia Del Hombre Lobo
''The Fury of the Wolfman'' ( es, La Furia del Hombre Lobo), aka ''Wolfman Never Sleeps'', is a 1970 Spanish horror film that is the fourth in a long series about the werewolf Count Waldemar Daninsky, played by Paul Naschy. Naschy wrote the screenplay as well. The film was shot in early 1970. It was not theatrically released in Spain until 1975 due to problems involved in finding a distributor, although it was distributed in edited form on U.S. TV in 1974. A Swedish edit called ''Wolfman Never Sleeps'' has a longer running time and contains several extra nude sex scenes that were edited out of the regular version. Romana Gonzalez handled the werewolf makeup effects. Naschy had a very hard time working with the director Jose Maria Zabalza, who he said was usually drunk on the set and tampered enormously with Naschy's screenplay. José María Zabalza
José María Zabalza (1928–1985) was a Spanish screenwriter and film director. Biography Graduate in the Faculty of Political and Economic Sciences of Madrid, and after practicing for a short period as an economist, he decides to present himself to the newly inaugurated I.I.E.C. (Institute of Investigations and Cinematographic Experiences), official school of cinema that opened its doors in February 1947. Zabalza passed the entrance exam in the specialty of direction for which there were only five places. His classmates in promotion (which was the second promotion of the school) were Ricardo Muñoz Suay, Jesús Franco and Juan García Atienza. In those days the students Jose Gutierrez Maesso, Luis Garcia Berlanga, Florentino Soria and Eduardo Ducay were also part of the school. Jose Maria Zabalza was a precursor in the founding of production companies in the Basque country. In 1955 he founded the production company Haz Films. ''The Mark of the Wolfman'' ( es, La Marca del Hombre Lobo), is a 1968 Spanish horror film, the first in a long series of films about the werewolf Count Waldemar Daninsky, played by Paul Naschy. The film was also known as ''Hell's Creatures'', ''The Nights of Satan'', ''The Vampires of Dr. Dracula'' and ''Frankenstein's Bloody Terror'' (the latter despite the fact that the film has nothing to do with either Frankenstein or his "bloody terror"). Naschy originally suggested actress Barbara Steele for the part of the vampire countess Wandesa, but Aurora De Alba wound up getting the part. The film was in production from February to March 1968.
