L-series Trains
The L-series (; Linke) trains are temporary trains run by railway bureaus of the People's Republic of China at times when they are thought to be necessary, such as the Chunyun period. History 1940–1960 The very first L-series trains appeared during the Anti-Japanese war, when the national railway network was entirely operated by South Manzhou Railway(南满铁路), and controlled by Japan. After the victory of the war, the country was founded, and the National Railway Bureau(国家铁路局), which once called China People's Railway(中国人民铁道) was founded. Then, to meet the transport needs during the Spring Festival (''Chunyun''), the bureau started a "temporary passenger service", which was usually operated using freight wagons as a result of a lack of passenger coaches. The Cultural Revolution During the Cultural Revolution The Cultural Revolution, formally known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, was a sociopolitical movement in the People ... ThinkPad L Series
The ThinkPad L-series laptops from Lenovo were designed with the theme of "green". The first laptops in the series were described by Lenovo as being the environmentally friendliest products in the ThinkPad range. Key features that contributed to the eco-friendly tag were the use of recycled material for packaging and post-consumer recycled content (such as office water jugs and used IT equipment). The predecessor of the ThinkPad L series was the ThinkPad A series, conceived as a desktop replacement. The ThinkPad A series was discontinued in favor of two product lines, the ThinkPad R series and the ThinkPad G series. The ThinkPad R series introduced Lenovo's new product naming system, as indicated in the published tech specs. The R61 laptop was renamed as R400 and R500. The first digit in the name referred to the display screen size of the product. The R400 laptop had a 14.1" display, while the R500 laptop had a 15.4" display. From the R series onwards, all ThinkPad models t ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

QI (L Series)
''QI'' (short for ''Quite Interesting'') is a BBC comedy panel game television show that began in 2003. It was created by John Lloyd (producer), John Lloyd, and was hosted by Stephen Fry until the end of Series 13 [M] after which Sandi Toksvig took over, and features permanent panellist Alan Davies. Each series covers topics that begin with a different letter of the alphabet; for example, the first series covered topics whose word began with "A". Thus it is referred to as "Series A" instead of "Series One". ''QI'' was given a full series after BBC executives responded well to a nonbroadcast pilot and the first episode, "Adam" Season premiere, premiered on BBC Two on 11 September 2003. From the second to the fifth series, episodes aired each week on BBC Two; the second and subsequent episodes were shown first on BBC Four in the time-slot after the previous episode's BBC Two broadcast. When the sixth series of ''QI'' began in 2008, the show moved to BBC One and the broadcasting of e ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Artin L-function
In mathematics, an Artin ''L''-function is a type of Dirichlet series associated to a linear representation ρ of a Galois group ''G''. These functions were introduced in 1923 by Emil Artin, in connection with his research into class field theory. Their fundamental properties, in particular the Artin conjecture described below, have turned out to be resistant to easy proof. One of the aims of proposed non-abelian class field theory is to incorporate the complex-analytic nature of Artin ''L''-functions into a larger framework, such as is provided by automorphic forms and the Langlands program. So far, only a small part of such a theory has been put on a firm basis. Definition Given \rho , a representation of G on a finite-dimensional complex vector space V, where G is the Galois group of the finite extension L/K of number fields, the Artin L-function: L(\rho,s) is defined by an Euler product. For each prime ideal \mathfrak p in K's ring of integers, there is an Euler factor, whi ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

System Sensor
System Sensor is a company headquartered in St. Charles, Illinois, dedicated to the research, development and manufacture of fire protection equipment. System Sensor is a part of the Honeywell Life Safety Group. History System Sensor was founded in 1984 to address the requirements of exclusive industry fire alarm products. One of their first products was the MASS sounder series of notification appliances, which came with System Sensor in 1984. Shortly after, in the early 1990s, System Sensor came out with MASS ADA sounders, with a horizontal strobe. In 1997, System Sensor introduced the SpectrAlert, and the MASS was discontinued shortly thereafter. As of November 5, 2006, System Sensor discontinued the SpectrAlert, replacing it with the SpectrAlert Advance, which has a reputation for how loud it is on the highest volume. Another notable product line from System Sensor is their i3 line of both 2 and 4 wire smoke detectors, first released in the early 2000s. System Sensor was a ... Subaru Leone
The Subaru Leone is a compact car produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Subaru from 1971 to 1994. The word ''leone'' is Italian for lion. It was released as a replacement for the Subaru 1000 and was the predecessor of the Subaru Impreza. All Leones were powered by the Subaru EA boxer engine. Most cars were equipped with optional four-wheel drive. At the time of its introduction, the Leone was Subaru's top model until 1989, when the larger Legacy was introduced. Although released in Japan and some export markets as the Leone, for many years, this was the only vehicle sold internationally by Subaru where the smaller kei cars Rex, Vivio, R-2, 360, and Sambar were not commonly sold. As a result, in major markets such as Australia, Europe and North America, it was instead identified with a trim level designation, some of which included: DL, GL, GLF, GLF5, GL-10, and RX. The car is thus often referred to simply as the Subaru GL or the Subaru L series. First Generation ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Rolls-Royce–Bentley L-series V8 Engine
The Rolls-Royce–Bentley L-series V8 engine is an engine introduced in 1959. Built in Crewe, it was used on most Rolls-Royce and Bentley automobiles in the four decades after its introduction and was used in the Bentley Mulsanne until 2020. With BMW's acquisition of the rights to use the Rolls-Royce name in 1998, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars began using BMW supplied V12 engines but Bentley under Volkswagen Group ownership continued to use highly modified versions of the L series on its Arnage, Azure, Brooklands and Mulsanne models, with VAG W-12 and V8 engines being used in its Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga models. History The first engine of V8 configuration was developed in 1904 by Léon Levavasseur in France and used for speedboat racing. Rolls-Royce premiered the world's first automobile production V8 engine in 1905 for the Rolls-Royce V-8 Legalimit – governed not to exceed the legal speed limit in Britain at the time of . Mercedes-Benz L-series Truck
The Mercedes-Benz "Kurzhauber" (short-bonnet) truck is a conventional layout, cab-after-engine truck manufactured from 1959 to present day (2022). In Germany it is most commonly referred to as the ''Kurzhauber'' (for "short bonnet"). The engine intruded into the cabin underneath the windshield, all in the name of making a shorter truck to meet the strict period German regulations on overall length. The short-bonnet truck was built in many countries and remains in service throughout many of the regions to which it was exported. History The first short-bonnet truck model, the Mercedes-Benz L 337, was first produced in Germany in 1959. Its technical successors were in production for export until 1995, long after domestic German sales had ended. The short-bonnet truck was a big export success for Mercedes-Benz and became very popular in the Middle East, Asia Pacific, South America, and Africa. Originally, medium-weight trucks (L 323 and L 327, with inline-six diesels) intended f ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Cummins L-series Engine
The Cummins L-series engine is a straight-six diesel engine designed and produced by Cummins. It displaces , and began production in 1982 as the L10 at the Jamestown Engine Plant in Jamestown, New York. After lengthening its stroke from 136 to 147mm, its displacement was enlarged to 10.8 litres and the engine renamed ISM 11, later M11. The ISL 9 and current L9 engines are not related to the L10 engine, but instead based on the smaller C-series platform with the 135mm stroke of the C8.3 enlarged to 144.5mm, together with 4 valves per cylinder, giving it 8.9 litres displacement. The L10 displaced , and was available in either a vertical form, for upright use in trucks and buses, or horizontal form, for underfloor use in buses and trains. The L10 was Cummins's first competitive offering in the British bus market, as their earlier production had been too large and heavy. However, it had a troublesome introduction to the British market, with high oil consumption and sealing problem ... Saturn L Series
The Saturn L series is a line of automobiles, sedans and station wagons that were made by Saturn Corporation in Wilmington, Delaware. Poor sales of the L-series cars caused GM to cancel the line for 2005. The first L-series car was built in May 1999, and the last one rolled off the Wilmington line on June 17, 2004, after a short run of 2005 models. About 406,300 L-series cars were built in this period. The plant was then retooled to build the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roadsters. The replacement for the L series, the Saturn Aura, arrived in August 2006 for the 2007 model-year. The Aura was built on the Epsilon platform, also shared by the Pontiac G6, and the Chevrolet Malibu. Model history *2000: In May 1999 for the 2000 model year, Saturn Corporation introduced the Saturn L series as a lineup of sedan and station wagon vehicle models – three sedan models and two station wagon models. The sedan L-series models were the LS, the LS1, and the LS2, and the station wagons we ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
