L'Équipe (TV Channel)
L'Équipe, often called La Chaîne L'Équipe ( eng, L'Équipe Channel) to distinguish it from its newspaper namesake, is a French sports television channel. It launched as a basic subscription channel in 1998, under the name L'Équipe TV. In late 2012, L'Équipe TV became L'Équipe 21 and started broadcasting in high definition on France's free digital terrestrial television (DTT). 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. Canal+ is a French subscription provider associated to the channel of the same name. It is owned by Vivendi (owner of Canal+) with a hundred percent share. Sport en France is a French free-to-air sports television channel. It was launched in 2019 and is headquartered in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris. In 2020, the channel signed on a content exchange program with France Televisions.
