''L'insegnante'' (internationally released as ''The School Teacher'' and ''Sexy Schoolteacher'') is a 1975 commedia sexy all'italiana directed by Nando Cicero. The film had a great commercial success and generated an "Insegnante" film series, that consists of six titles, three of them starred by Edwige Fenech in the main role. ''L'insegnante'' represents the first major role for Alvaro Vitali, who in a short time would become a star of the genre. Fenech reprises the name of Giovanna from her previous box-office hit ''Giovannona Long-Thigh''. The film was followed by ''The Schoolteacher Goes to Boys' High''. Plot A rich Sicilian: Fefè Mottola, decides to call a wealthy girl graduate: Giovanna, who is about to become a teacher, because his son needs repetitions. The boy, named Franco, is shocked by the physical beauty of the teacher, and so to restrain himself decides to pose as gay. Nando Cicero
Fernando Cicero, better known as Nando Cicero (22 January 1931 – 30 July 1995), was an Italian film director, screenwriter and actor. Born in Asmara, Cicero debuted as an actor, working with directors such as Luchino Visconti ('' Senso'', 1953), Roberto Rossellini (''Vanina Vanini'', 1961), Francesco Rosi ( ''Salvatore Giuliano'', 1962) and Alberto Lattuada (''La steppa'', 1962). He starred in eleven films between 1953 and 1962, always in supporting roles. After his directorial debut with ''Lo scippo'' he directed three Spaghetti Western films ('' Professionals for a Massacre'', ''Last of the Badmen'', and ''Twice a Judas''). From 1970 he focused on comedy genre, directing some parody films starred by Franco and Ciccio. Vincenzo "Enzo" Cannavale (5 April 1928 – 18 March 2011) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in more than 100 films since 1949, including ''Cinema Paradiso'', which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 62nd Academy Awards in 1990. The commedia sexy all'italiana (, lit. "sex comedy Italian style"), also known as commedia scollacciata or commedia erotica all'italiana, is a subgenre of Italian ''commedia all'italiana'' film genre. Style ''Commedia sexy'' is characterized typically by both abundant female nudity and comedy, and by the minimal weight given to social criticism that was the basic ingredient of the main ''commedia all'italiana'' genre. Stories are often set in affluent environments such as wealthy households. It is closely connected to the sexual revolution, and it was something extremely new and innovative for that period. For the first time, films with female nudity could be watched at the cinema. Pornography and scenes of explicit sex were still forbidden in Italian cinemas, but partial nudity was somewhat tolerated. Francesca Romana Coluzzi (20 May 1943 – 15 July 2009) was an Italian actress. A respected dramatic actress on stage, she is probably best known for her roles in the commedia sexy all'italiana. Life and career Born in Tirana, Albania of Italian parents, Coluzzi soon moved in Italy with her family to Perugia. As a teenager, during a student twist dancing contest, Federico Fellini noticed her and offered her a role in ''8½''. Coluzzi declined the offer to continue her studies, but however the encounter with Fellini marked her life, and she eventually decided to leave the university to pursue a career in the cinema. She started her career as a body double, first of Mylène Demongeot in ''Fantômas'' and later of Marisa Mell in '' Danger: Diabolik''. In 1965, at 22, Coluzzi made her acting debut in the Lucio Fulci's comedy film ''002 Operazione Luna''. Gianfranco D'Angelo
Gianfranco D'Angelo (19 August 1936 – 15 August 2021) was an Italian actor and comedian. Biography Born in Rome, D'Angelo started his career as a comedian in the mid-1960s, achieving his first successes with the theatrical company "Il Bagaglino". His career was launched in the mid-1970s, with a series of successful variety shows such as ''Mazzabubù'', ''C'era una volta Roma'', ''La Sberla'', and reached its peak in the following decade, with '' Drive In'', ''Odiens'' and '' Striscia la notizia''. D'Angelo was also very active in cinema between 1974 and 1982, but his film activity was limited to "'' sexy comedies''" and B-movies. Biography Carotenuto, the son of a silent film actor and younger brother of the actor Memmo Carotenuto, took various humble jobs for many years before starting his own artistic career in 1946, first as a radio actor and then joining small avanspettacolo companies.
