''L'infermiera di notte'', internationally released as ''Night Nurse'', is a 1979 commedia sexy all'italiana film written and directed by Mariano Laurenti. Plot Doctor Nicola Pischella is an unrepentant womanizer who systematically cheats on his jealous wife Lucia between visits to his dental office. Things get complicated when the old and weird Saverio, Lucia's uncle, arrives at the Pischella house, who says he is ill and now close to death. In exchange for hospitality and assistance, she promises a generous bequest to her niece. Mariano Laurenti
Mariano Laurenti (15 April 1929 – 6 January 2022) was an Italian film director and actor. Career He started as a script supervisor and later became an assistant director for, among others, Mauro Bolognini and Stefano Vanzina. He directed 50 films between 1966 and 1999, being mainly active in the "commedia sexy all'italiana" genre. Laurenti died in Gubbio on 6 January 2022, at the age of 92. Francesca Romana Coluzzi
Francesca Romana Coluzzi (20 May 1943 – 15 July 2009) was an Italian actress. A respected dramatic actress on stage, she is probably best known for her roles in the commedia sexy all'italiana. Life and career Born in Tirana, Albania of Italian parents, Coluzzi soon moved in Italy with her family to Perugia. As a teenager, during a student twist dancing contest, Federico Fellini noticed her and offered her a role in ''8½''. Coluzzi declined the offer to continue her studies, but however the encounter with Fellini marked her life, and she eventually decided to leave the university to pursue a career in the cinema. She started her career as a body double, first of Mylène Demongeot in ''Fantômas'' and later of Marisa Mell in '' Danger: Diabolik''. The commedia sexy all'italiana (, lit. "sex comedy Italian style"), also known as commedia scollacciata or commedia erotica all'italiana, is a subgenre of Italian ''commedia all'italiana'' film genre. Style ''Commedia sexy'' is characterized typically by both abundant female nudity and comedy, and by the minimal weight given to social criticism that was the basic ingredient of the main ''commedia all'italiana'' genre. Stories are often set in affluent environments such as wealthy households. It is closely connected to the sexual revolution, and it was something extremely new and innovative for that period. For the first time, films with female nudity could be watched at the cinema. Pornography and scenes of explicit sex were still forbidden in Italian cinemas, but partial nudity was somewhat tolerated.
