L'ape Regina
''The Conjugal Bed'' ( it, L'ape regina) is a 1963 Italian comedy film directed by Marco Ferreri. It was entered into the 1963 Cannes Film Festival where Marina Vlady won the award for Best Actress. Plot A wealthy car dealer called Alfonso decides to get married with Regina, a quiet devoted Catholic girl, introduced to him by a friend. After the wedding, she reveals having a strong sexual appetite but only aimed at conceiving a baby. After getting pregnant the bride loses any interest in Alfonso. Marco Ferreri
Marco Ferreri (11 May 1928 – 9 May 1997) was an Italian film director, screenwriter and actor, who began his career in the 1950s directing three films in Spain, followed by 24 Italian films before his death in 1997. He is considered one of the greatest European cinematic provocateurs of his time and had a constant presence in prestigious festival circuit - including eight films in competition in Cannes Film Festival and a Golden Bear win in 1991 Berlin Film Festival. Three of his films are among 100 film italiani da salvare, 100 films selected for preservation for significant contribution to Italian cinema. Biography He was born in Milan. Born in Syracuse, Sicily, son of Achille Majeroni and his second wife Graziosa Bignetti, he made his stage debut at age twelve with the Marazzi-Diligenti company. Rafael Azcona
Rafael Azcona Fernández (24 October 1926 – 24 March 2008) was an awarded Spanish screenwriter and novelist who has worked with some of the best Spanish and international filmmakers. Azcona won five Goya Awards during his career, including a lifetime achievement award in 1998. He was born in the northern Spanish city Logroño on 24 October 1926. Azcona initially began his career writing for humor magazines. He became known as a screenwriter when he penned the screenplay for the film, ''El Pisito'' (''The Little Apartment''), which was based on his own novel. The 1959 film was directed by Italian film director, Marco Ferreri. Azcona teamed up with director Fernando Trueba in “Belle Époque,” which won an Academy Award for best foreign film in 1994.
