L'amourha
''L'amourha'' is the third album of Sielun Veljet. It was their breakthrough album, gaining much of its success from the hit single "Peltirumpu". It is the only Sielun Veljet album to come close to the sales figures of Ismo Alanko's previous group, Hassisen Kone, and remains one of Alanko's most popular works. The album was named the fourth greatest Finnish rock album by ''Soundi'' magazine in 2005. "Peltirumpu" has been covered by Maija Vilkkumaa (on the 2000 re-release of ''Pitkä ihana leikki'') and SubUrban Tribe (on ''Säkenöivää voimaa - tribuutti Sielun Veljille'', 2002). The name of the album is a portmanteau of the French word "l'amour" (love) and the Finnish word "murha" (murder). The band began later using the name L'amourder as their alias in English language projects. Sielun Veljet
Sielun Veljet () was a Finnish rock band of the 1980s. They were formed soon after the disbanding of Hassisen Kone by its former frontman Ismo Alanko. Sielun Veljet never achieved the fame or the record sales figures of Hassisen Kone, but they became famous for their powerful stage presence and aggressive, shamanistic post-punk musical style. Most of the band's recorded material is sung in Finnish, except for their 1989 album '' Softwood Music Under Slow Pillars''. They have also recorded English-language versions of their songs under the moniker L'amourder. In 2011, they released a new song, "Nukkuva hirviö" (Sleeping beast). ''Kuka teki huorin'' is the fourth album of Finnish rock band Sielun Veljet. It is written in a style similar to their breakthrough album '' L'amourha'', and the band was criticized by ''Soundi'' magazine for repeating itself. The album maintains the fiercely energetic and repetitive style of Sielun Veljet with some funk influences, while at the same time being considered one of their more accessible recordings. ''Hei soturit'' (Finnish for "Hey Warriors") is the second studio album by the Finnish rock group Sielun Veljet. The CD release of the album is titled ''Hei soturit/Lapset'', as it also includes the 1983 EP ''Lapset'' (Finnish for "The Children"). "Elintaso" was covered by Finnish rock group Aknestik on the 2002 various artists tribute album ''Säkenöivää voimaa - tribuutti Sielun Veljille''. Ismo Alanko said in an interview that he prefers cover versions that try to find a new perspective to the original, and that the Aknestik version was even confusing because they had transformed the furious song into a ballad. Ismo Kullervo Alanko (; born November 12, 1960) is a Finnish musician. He is known as the frontman of several bands, most famously Hassisen Kone, Sielun Veljet and Ismo Alanko Säätiö, as well as a successful solo artist. Alanko is known for his versatility and interest in different musical styles. During his career he has recorded punk rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, electronic music, schlager, dance music, children's music and film scores. Saul Chaplin (February 19, 1912 – November 15, 1997) was an American composer and musical director. He was born Saul Kaplan in Brooklyn, New York. He had worked on stage, screen and television since the days of Tin Pan Alley. Juha Vainio
Juha Harri "Junnu" Vainio, also known as Juha "Watt" Vainio (10 May 1938 in Kotka, Finland – 29 October 1990, Gryon, Switzerland) was a Finnish lyricist, singer, composer and teacher. With the lyrics or music to over 2,400 songs to his name, Vainio is one of Finland's most prolific lyricists along with Sauvo Puhtila, Reino Helismaa and Vexi Salmi. Vainio enjoyed a short professional career as a teacher at Kymenranta Primary School. Vainio began writing songs in the early 1960s and continued until his death. Apart from his home town Kotka, he lived for several years in Helsinki and Espoo. In his last years Vainio lived in Gryon, Switzerland, where he died of a heart attack in October 1990. He is buried in the family grave in Helsinki. He was given the nickname "Watt" on account of a song on his first solo record, the 1964 ''Paras rautalankayhtye'' ("The Best Rautalanka Band"). Wand'rin' Star
"Wand'rin' Star" is a song that was originally written by Alan J. Lerner (lyrics) and Frederick Loewe (music) for the stage musical '' Paint Your Wagon'' in 1951. Lee Marvin recording "Wand'rin' Star" was a number one single in the UK for three weeks and in Ireland for two weeks for Lee Marvin in March 1970. The song also peaked at number 10 in Australia. Background When the film of the musical was made in 1969, Lee Marvin took the role of prospector Ben Rumson. Not a natural singer, Marvin nevertheless sang all of his songs in the film, rejecting the idea of miming to another singer's voice. Despite the film being a box office flop, the soundtrack became a success. Orchestrated and arranged by Nelson Riddle, Marvin's version of the song "Wand'rin Star" became a number 1 single in Ireland and the UK, keeping The Beatles at number 2 in the UK with their single " Let It Be".
