L'Isle-Jourdain ( oc, Ylla or ) was a lordship and then county near Gers in Gascony during the High Middle Ages. It took its name, Jourdain, from its crusading baron who was baptised in the River Jordan on the First Crusade. Its last count sold the fief to the King of France. L'Isle-Jourdain, Gers
L'Isle-Jourdain (; oc, L'Isla de Baish, ; ca, Illa Jordà or ) is a commune in the Gers department, Occitania, Southwestern France. The lexicographers Claude (1854–1924) and Paul Augé (1881–1951) were born in L'isle-Jourdain as was the writer Armand Praviel (1875–1944).
