Adolfo Margarito Tapia Ibarra (November 14, 1965) is a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'' ( masked professional wrestler), who currently performs as L. A. Park for Major League Wrestling in the United States, where he is a former MLW World Tag Team Champion. He also performs for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) in Mexico. He is best known throughout the world as La Parka, especially from his many years in the American World Championship Wrestling promotion. He has worked for every major and multiple minor wrestling promotions in Mexico, as well as participating on multiple wrestling tours in Japan. He is a three-time world champion, having held the IWC World Heavyweight, IWC World Hardcore, and IWL World Heavyweight championships all once. He is also a two-time world tag team champion. In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. Not everything a heel wrestler does must be villainous: heels need only to be booed or jeered by the audience to be effective characters, although most truly successful heels embrace other aspects of their devious personalities, such as cheating to win or using foreign objects. "The role of a heel is to get 'heat,' which means spurring the crowd to obstreperous hatred, and generally involves cheating and pretty much any other manner of socially unacceptable behavior that will get the job done." Lucha libre (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term used in Latin America for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask, which is a wager with a high degree of weight attached. La Parka (wrestler)
Jesús Alfonso Huerta Escoboza (January 4, 1966 January 11, 2020) was a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler, better known as La Parka (or La Parka II to distinguish him from the original La Parka) who worked for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion AAA from the mid-1990s until 2019. On January 11, 2020, Huerta died from complications arising from injuries that he sustained from a botched move during an October 2019 match. Escoboza was not the first wrestler to use the ring name "La Parka", Adolfo Tapia was the original La Parka but did not own either the name or the character. In the late 1990s, Escoboza was billed as ''La Parka Jr.'' and then in 2003 he became the "official" La Parka while Tapia was forced to stop using the name and instead became known as L.A. Park. Antonio Peña
Antonio Hipolito Peña Herrada (June 13, 1951 – October 5, 2006) was the founder of the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) in 1992. Peña's promotion reached its height of popularity in the early 1990s before the downturn of the Mexican economy. Peña's AAA is the promotion largely responsible for bringing the "Lucha" style to the United States, with such wrestlers as Rey Mysterio Jr., Psicosis, La Parka, Konnan and others. Peña was the former head booker of Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) before forming AAA. IWL World Heavyweight Championship
International Wrestling League (IWL) (Liga Internacional de Lucha Libre in Spanish) is a professional wrestling promotion based in Deportivo Tlalli, in Tlalnepantla, Mexico State. It was founded as Independent Wrestling League on August 13, 2010 by Martín Amaro, with Octavio Rivero as the head booker. In late 2010 Rivero was replaced by Amaro's niece, Ángeles Rubio, under whom IWL started a working agreement with Perros del Mal Producciones. Rubio would leave the promotion for personal reasons in April 2011. He was followed as the head booker by wrestler Fantasma de la Ópera, who started a working relationship with AAA. On May 28, 2011, it was announced that Fantasma de la Ópera would be replaced by Valerie Richter. The International Wrestling Council (IWC) World Heavyweight Championship (Campeonato Mundial de Peso Completo de la IWC in Spanish) was a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). The championship existed from 1993 until 2007, when it was unified with the GPCW SUPER-X Monster Championship, Mexican National Heavyweight Championship and UWA World Light Heavyweight Championship to create the AAA Mega Championship.
