The film was released on November 2, 1919, by Paramount Pictures. Macey Harlam (April 27, 1873 – June 17, 1923) was a stage and screen actor from New York. He performed on Broadway from 1901 to 1918 before switching to silent films. In films he appeared with Pauline Frederick, Douglas Fairbanks, Elsie Ferguson, Geraldine Farrar and Lionel Barrymore. Dorothy Dalton
Dorothy Dalton (September 22, 1893 – April 13, 1972) was an American silent film actress and stage personality who worked her way from a stock company to a movie career. Beginning in 1910, Dalton was a player in stock companies in Chicago; Terre Haute, Indiana; and Holyoke, Massachusetts. She joined the Keith-Albee-Orpheum Corporation vaudeville circuits. By 1914 she was working in Hollywood. Career Born in Chicago, Dalton made her movie debut in 1914 in ''Pierre of the Plains'', co-starring Edgar Selwyn, followed by the lead role in ''Across the Pacific'' that same year. In 1915, she appeared with William S. Hart in ''The Disciple''. This production came before she left Triangle Film Corporation and was signed to Thomas Harper Ince Studios. While Ince meant to cast her in mature roles, she had preferred to play ingénues. Richard Robert Elliott (October 9, 1879 – November 15, 1951) was an American character actor who appeared in 102 Hollywood films and television shows from 1916 to 1951. Life and career He was born Richard Robert Elliott in 1879 in Columbus, Ohio. Most of his main roles were in the silent era, in the sound era he mostly performed in supporting roles and bit parts. On the stage he originated the Sergeant O'Hara character opposite Jeanne Eagels in somerset Maugham's play ''Rain'' (1922). Active in films from 1916, Elliott played Detective Crosby in the 1928 feature '' Lights of New York'', the first all-talking sound film. One of his most notable roles was that of a Yankee officer playing cards with Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) in the film ''Gone With the Wind''. Biography Working with stock theater troupes such as the Grand Stock Company, the Girard Stock Company, and Creston Clarke's company, Gale performed on stage for four decades before making her first film, ''Sins of Men'' (1916). Clara Beyers (c.1880 – c.1950?) was an American silent film stock actress.A stock actress was an actress who was employed by the studio on a contract much like present day employee contracts. Beyers acted on stage for nine years before she began making films. She acted with stock theater companies in Omaha, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Vancouver. When she turned to film, she signed with the Balboa company. She was signed in 1913 and starred in 32 films before her retirement from film in 1922. Joe De Grasse
Joseph Louis De Grasse (May 4, 1873 – May 25, 1940) was a Canadians, Canadian film director. Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, he was the elder brother of actor Sam De Grasse. Biography Joseph De Grasse had studied and was a first-class graduate of accounting and he began his career as a journalist, but soon became enamored with the theater and took work as a stage actor. In 1903, he quit his full-time job as the City of Boston's bookkeeper to pursue acting. In 1910, he acted in his first motion picture and although he would appear as an actor in 13 films, and write 2 screenplays, his real interest was in directing. While working in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Hollywood for Universal Studios, Universal Pictures, De Grasse met and married one of the few female directors working at the time, Ida May Park (1879–1954).
