''L'Italia s'è rotta'' ("Italy is broken") is a 1976 Italian comedy film directed by Steno. Plot The two Sicilian Peppe Truzzoliti and Antonio Mancuso decide, after a misadventure with some mafia drug dealers, to leave the cold and racist Turin to return to their native land. With them there is Domenica, a beautiful girl from Veneto, who had arrived in Turin in search of work but, for a number of setbacks, had been forced into prostitution. Steno, the artistic name of Stefano Vanzina (19 January 1917 – 13 March 1988), was an Italian film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. Two of his films, ''Un giorno in pretura'' (1954) and ''Febbre da cavallo'' (1976), were shown in a retrospective section on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Enrico Montesano
Enrico Montesano (born 7 June 1945) is an Italian actor and showman. Career Montesano comes from a family involved in theatre, and he made his debut in 1966 in a show named ''Humor nero'', alongside of Vittorio Metz. Later he became a very popular actor both on theatre and on television, thanks to his burlesque and brilliant style, and so during seventies he took part in several Italian comedies. He is probably best known for the role of Armando "Er Pomata" Pellicci in the cult movie '' Febbre da cavallo'' (1976), directed by Steno, but also for the role of Caleb, the good thief from '' Il ladrone'' (1980), directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile. Carla Calò (21 September 1926 – 29 December 2019) was an Italian actress. Life and career Born in Palermo, Calò started her career on stage, notably starring in Luigi Squarzina's ''Il berretto a sonagli'', and also being active in dialectal theatre and avanspettacolo. She made her film debut in 1949, in Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia's ''Il falco rosso''. Duilio Del Prete (25 June 1938 – 2 February 1998) was an Italian actor, dubber and singer-songwriter. Del Prete was born at Cuneo, Piedmont. As a singer-songwriter, he wrote political songs and recorded an album of Jacques Brel's covers; he also wrote songs for several artists. As an actor, he participated to several films of the ''commedia all'italiana'', including '' My Friends'' and ''Alfredo, Alfredo'', both by Pietro Germi, and '' Sessomatto''.
