L'Illustration Musicale (album)
''L'Illustration'' was a weekly French newspaper published in Paris from 1843 to 1944. It was founded by Édouard Charton with the first issue published on 4 March 1843, it became the first illustrated newspaper in France then, after 1906, the first international illustrated magazine; distributed in 150 countries. History In 1891, ''L'Illustration'' became the first French newspaper to publish a photograph. Many of these photographs came from syndicated photo-press agencies like Chusseau-Flaviens, but the publication also employed its own photographers such as Léon Gimpel and others. In 1907, ''L'Illustration'' was the first to publish a ''color'' photograph. It also published Gaston Leroux' novel ''Le mystère de la chambre jaune'' as a serial a year before its 1908 release. Peter I Of Serbia
Peter I ( sr-Cyr, Петар I Карађорђевић, Petar I Кarađorđević; – 16 August 1921) was the last king of Serbia, reigning from 15 June 1903 to 1 December 1918. On 1 December 1918, he became the first king of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, and he held that title until his death three years later. Since he was the king of Serbia during a period of great Serbian military success, he was remembered by the Serbian people as King Peter the Liberator, and also as Old King. Peter was Karađorđe's grandson and third son of Persida Nenadović and Prince Alexander Karađorđević, who was forced to abdicate. Peter lived with his family in exile. Jacques Bouly de Lesdain (1880-1975) was a French aristocrat, lawyer and diplomat. He was the author of several travel books about Asia and political books about Germany. He was the political editor of ''L'Illustration'' and he organised anti-Freemasonry conferences during World War II. Early life Jacques Bouly de Lesdain was born on 4 October 1880. He graduated from Sciences Po and received a bachelor's degree in Laws. He was a count. Career Bouly de Lesdain was a lawyer and diplomat. Pierre-Louis Pierson ( Hinckange ( Moselle), 13 December 1822—Paris, 22 March 1913) was a French photographer and portraitist. His studio was located at 5, boulevard des Capucines, on the border between the 2nd and 9th arrondissements in the centre of Paris. James H. Hare (3 October 1856 – 24 June 1946) was an English photojournalist active between 1898 and 1931. He was the leading photographer during five major wars, and was the driving force behind '' Collier's'' becoming a large circulation magazine. Among other conflicts he covered, he photographed the Mexican Revolution (1910-20). Early life Hare was born in London to George Hare, who, after a successful cabinet making business, becomes a successful camera manufacturer. Hare attended St. John's College in London. He voluntarily left after one year and became an apprentice in his fathers camera shop. Jules Gervais-Courtellemont (1863–1931) was a French photographer who was famous for taking color autochromes during World War I. Henrietta Consuelo Sansom, Countess of Quigini Puliga (24 April 1847 – 5 August 1938) was a French writer and novelist known better by the pseudonym, Brada, a shortened version of her earlier pen name, Bradamente.
