''L'Enfant'' (English: ''The Child'') is a 2005 Belgian film directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, starring Jérémie Renier and Déborah François. The film was released under its French title in the US, and as ''The Child'' in the UK. It received critical acclaim and won the Palme d'Or at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival, among other accolades. In 2017, the film was named the fourteenth "Best Film of the 21st Century So Far" by ''The New York Times''. Plot Bruno, 20, and Sonia, 18, are surviving on her welfare cheques and Bruno's petty crimes when Sonia becomes pregnant. L'Enfant (poster)
L'enfant, better known as Man and Baby is a 1987 photographic poster depicting a shirtless male model (Adam Perry) holding a young baby. The image, conceived by Paul Rodriguez was photographed by Spencer Rowell and published in the 1980s by British company Athena Posters. The photograph was said to herald the "sensitive but sexy New Man" aesthetic. In 2011 the poster became part of the V&A Print collection and can be viewed in the Prints and Drawings Study Room level C. V&A, London and is published on p. 58 British Posters. Pierre "Peter" Charles L'Enfant (; August 2, 1754June 14, 1825) was a French-American military engineer who designed the basic plan for Washington, D.C. (capital city of the United States) known today as the L'Enfant Plan (1791). Early life and education L'Enfant was born in Paris, France, on August 2, 1754, as the third child and second son of Pierre L'Enfant (1704–1787), a painter and professor at Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture known for his panoramas of battles, and Marie Leullier, the daughter of a French military officer. In 1758, his brother Pierre Joseph died at six, and Pierre Charles became the eldest son. He studied art at the Royal Academy from 1771 until 1776, when he left school in France to enlist in the American Revolutionary War on the side of the rebelling colonials. L'Enfant Plaza is an intermodal transit station complex located at L'Enfant Plaza in the Southwest Federal Center neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It consists of an underground Washington Metro rapid transit station and an elevated Virginia Railway Express commuter rail station. The Metro station, which opened on July 1, 1977, is one of three major interchange stations on the Metro system. ''Opéra Sauvage'' is a soundtrack album by the Greek electronic composer Vangelis, released in 1979. It is the score for the nature documentary of the same title by French filmmaker Frédéric Rossif. It is considered one of Vangelis' best albums, and is his second most successful album in the USA, reaching #42 in the album charts. Overview Vangelis produced this album during his electro-acoustic period, which was one of the most productive in his musical career. ''Opéra Sauvage'' is more akin to his classic sound than his earlier nature scores for the same director, Frédéric Rossif, such as ''L'Apocalypse des animaux'' and ''La Fête sauvage''. A later collaboration with Rossif in the style of ''Opéra sauvage'' was ''Sauvage et Beau''. "Hymne" was re-recorded in choral version for the 1991 Eureka concert by Vangelis in Rotterdam.
