Körfez, Kocaeli
Körfez is a town and district of the Kocaeli Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. Yarımca merged with Tütünçiftlik to become Körfez. It was created from eastern part of Gebze and western part of İzmit (Then called Center) districts in 1987. It has borders with Şile to north, Derince from east, Dilovası from southwest and Gebze from west. Its center was called Yarımca before a district center. Hereke and Kirazlıyalı were towns with municipality until abolition of their municipalities in 2009 and were converted in quarters. The mayor is İsmail Baran ( AKP) and the district governor is Hasan Hüseyin Can. The cement plant is a major source of greenhouse gas. Kocaeli Province
Kocaeli Province ( tr, Kocaeli ili, ) is a Provinces of Turkey, province of Turkey and one of only three not to have the same official name as its capital, İzmit, which is thus also sometimes called Kocaeli. The Marmara Region ( Turkish: ''Marmara Bölgesi'') is a geographical region of Turkey. Gebze
Gebze (,) is a district in Kocaeli Province, Turkey. It is situated 65 km (30 mi) southeast of Istanbul, on the Gulf of Izmit, the eastern arm of the Sea of Marmara. Gebze is the largest district per population size in the province as of 2020-exceeding İzmit, the provincial capital. Gebze has experienced rapid growth in recent years, from 159,116 residents in 1990 to 392.945 in 2020. İzmit
İzmit () is a district and the central district of Kocaeli province, Turkey. It is located at the Gulf of İzmit in the Sea of Marmara, about east of Istanbul, on the northwestern part of Anatolia. As of the last 31/12/2019 estimation, the city center had a population of 367,990. Şile
Şile is a city and district in Istanbul, Turkey. According to the 2007 census, the population of the district was 25,169, of which 9,831 lived in the city of Şile, 2,096 in the nearby town of Ağva (Yeşilçay) and 13,242 in surrounding villages. However, between June and September, the population rapidly increases because of the many residents of Istanbul who have summer houses in Şile. Derince
Derince is a seaport, city and district of Kocaeli Province of Turkey. The mayor is Zeki Aygün ( AK Parti). Derince Port is one of the few ports in Turkey under government control. The port is operated by the Turkish State Railways (TCDD). Having one of the biggest storage area in the region, the port is widely used for finished vehicle product transportation. Derince is one of the few ports with railway connection in that area, and has the longest rail network within the port. Two rail ferry services use Derince Port, Tekirdağ-Derince operated by TCDD and Derince-Chornomorsk/Poti operated by Bati Wagon. The port is in the privatization list of Privatization Administration.
