Kähler Keramik
Kähler Keramik (Kähler Ceramics) is a Danish ceramics manufacturer based in Næstved on the island of Zealand. History Joachim Christian Herman Kähler (1808–84) from Heiligenhafen in the Duchy of Holstein established himself as a potter there in 1839, producing heating stoves, cooking pots and kitchenware. His son, Herman A. Kähler (1846-1917), together with his younger brother Carl Frederik Kähler, took over the running of the factory in 1872. Carl became responsible for producing faience while Herman specialized in manufacturing tiled stoves. In 1875, after Carl withdrew and the original factory had burnt down, Herman built a new factory on the town's outskirts where he produced both stoves and pottery. Inspired by Vilhelm Klein, Herman A. Kähler started to experiment with more appealing designs with glazed finishes. In 1886, he succeeded in attracting the artists H. A. Brendekilde, L.A. Næstved () is a town in the municipality of the same name, located in the southern part of the island of Zealand in Denmark. Næstved has several adult education centers, five elementary schools - and has at least one of each type of the four upper-second-level education centers. Svend Hammershøi (10 August 1873 – 27 February 1948) was a Danish painter and ceramist.Sigurd Schultz: He is remembered principally for the classical pottery designs he contributed to the Royal Copenhagen (''Kongelige Porcelainsfabrik'') and to Kähler's Ceramics Factory (''Kählers Keramiske Værksted'') in Næstved. Rosendahl Design Group is a family-owned housewares and kitchen utensil company based in Hørsholm, Denmark. History The company was founded by Erik Rosendahl in 1984 and originally represented Iittala on the Danish market. Holmegaard Glass Factory ( da, Holmegaards Glasværk) is a glass factory located in the former municipality of Holmegaard just outside Næstved. History The home of Holmegaard Glassworks is located in the town of Fensmark, Holmegaard. The company was founded in 1823 after Count Christian Danneskjold-Samsøe petitioned the Danish king for permission to build a glassworks at Holmegaard Mose ("Holmegaard Bog"). He died before permission was granted. Eva Sørensen
Eva Sørensen (February 14, 1940 - December 31, 2019) was a prolific Danish sculptor and ceramist whose granite and marble works are exhibited in museums and public spaces across Denmark. She died in Verbania in Italy. Life and work Born in Herning on 14 February 1940, Sørensen was the daughter of the manufacturer Niels Sørensen and his wife Magda Johanne Benedikte Thomasen. After matriculating from Herning Gymnasium in 1958, she moved to Copenhagen where she became an apprentice with the painter Mogens Andersen. Kai Nielsen (26 November 1882 – 2 November 1924) was a Danish sculptor. Biography Early life and education Kai Nielsen was born on 26 November 1882 in Svendborg, the son of Christian Nielsen, a watchmaker, and his wife Ane Marie. At 15 he became an apprentice painter but was artistically inclined and began to paint landscapes and portraits. At the same time he studied at the technical school in Svendborg where he was taught moulding by Edvard Eriksen, later famous for creating The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. In 1901 he moved to Copenhagen and took drawing classes to prepare for the Art Academy. When he applied, they rejected his drawings but accepted him into the Sculpture School in view of a portrait bust he had made in Svendborg, and he became a student of Carl Aarsleff.
