Thukha
Thukha ( my, သုခ, ; 14 January 1910 – 7 December 2005) was a six-time Burmese Academy Award winning film director, writer, song writer, script writer, film actor and film producer. His film production company, Thukha Films Company, won Best Picture Award for twice. Thukha directed 33 films and is considered the most successful Burmese film director. Biography Born Thein Maung in the Irrawaddy delta in British Burma, Thukha began writing poems as a middle school student. He became familiar with classical Burmese music at an early age thanks to his grandfather, a harpist. Thukha studied at Kyaiklat and Pyapon National Schools. Thukha began his writing career at age 19 with a short fiction work "Zabe Pwint" ("Jasmine Petal") in ''Kawi Myetmhan'' magazine under the pen name Sein Thein Dan. Daisy Kyaw Win ( my, ဒေစီကျော်ဝင်း) is a Burmese actress who won the Myanmar Academy Award in the 1971 film ''Arr Nwae Thu Par Shin''. The 1964 film '' Maung Mu Paing Shin'' made her rise in popularity. Her parents Kyaw Win and Tin Tin Mu also won the academy awards in 1952 and 1965 respectively; hence they became the first and only academy-winning family in history. Shwe Pyi Aye ( my, ရွှေပြည်အေး; born Tin Maung Aye 13 February 1909 – 22 October 1977) was a Burmese musician and composer. Biography Shwe Pyi Aye was born in Yangon in Burma during British rule on 13 February 1909 to his father, the amateur pianist U Nu and his mother, Daw Hlaing. He was the fourth son of five siblings. At the age of five, he started learning the basics of rhythm from his uncle, a Burmese harp artist. At the age of 8 he was able to play and sing by himself. At the age of 10, he had mastered the violin. Growing up with violinists Nyein, U Ba Thwin, and Ko Ba Yee's mastered the violin while still young. He became a violinist by the musical direction of violinist U Ba Latt and Ko Ba Yee. The Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards are presented annually to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Burmese Film Industry of Myanmar.
