''The Kiss on the Cruise'' (Swedish: ''Kyssen på kryssen'') is a 1950 Swedish comedy film directed by Arne Mattsson and starring Annalisa Ericson, Gunnar Björnstrand and Karl-Arne Holmsten.Qvist & Von Bagh p.148 The film's sets were designed by the art director Nils Svenwall. It was shot at the Råsunda Studios in Stockholm with location shooting in London, Lisbon, Madeira and Morocco. Synopsis Lasse Brenner, a celebrated film director known for his realist dramas is offered a contract to take over a film backed by a wealthy manufacturer. Set on a cruise ship, he sees this as a chance of a holiday in which he can bring his wife Sonja, a famous star along. The only stipulation is that the manufacturer's daughter Lisa Yhlén, an aspiring actress, must appear in the film. Sonja takes a dislike to Lisa, who is almost identical to her. Arne Mattsson
Arne Mattsson (2 December 1919 – 28 June 1995) was a Swedish film director. Biography Born in Uppsala, the early films of Mattsson were mostly comedies. His biggest success was '' Hon dansade en sommar'' (1951, aka. ''One Summer of Happiness''), which earned him the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival and a nomination for the Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1952. It caused some controversy at the time because it contained nudity. His 1953 film of Peder Sjögren's second novel, ''Bread of Love'' (''Kärlekens bröd''), based on Sjögren's experiences as a volunteer in the Finnish Continuation War of 1941–44 angered the author, was banned in Finland and incurred the wrath of the Soviets at the Cannes Film Festival. Julia Maria Vilhelmina Cæsar (28 January 1885 – 18 July 1971) was a Swedish actress. Her acting career spanned from 1905 until 1968, during which time she appeared in a large number of revues, plays, and films. Early life Cæsar was born at Östermalm in Stockholm in 1885. Her father, Gustav Cæsar, was a sergeant belonging to the Royal Svea Life Guards. Bengt Gunnar Eklund (18 January 1925 – 19 January 1998) was a Swedish actor. He is well known as Nisse Granqvist in the 1964 TV series ''Vi på Saltkråkan''. Carl Olof Magnus Winnerstrand (26 August 1875 – 16 July 1956) was a Swedish actor. Biography Born in a bourgeois home in Stockholm, Winnerstrand was a son of the well-known Stockholm goldsmith and jeweller C.A. Winnerstrand, and started out in his father's footsteps, learning the trade. His parents opposed his acting dreams and, being loyal to a promise to his father, he took over the family business when his father died in 1899, and worked a couple of years as goldsmith. Jan Göran Gustaf Harald Molander (2 April 1920 – 30 June 2009) was a Swedish people, Swedish actor and film director who had a decades-long dominant career in his country's film and television industry. A native of Stockholm, Jan Molander was the son of actor/director Gustaf Molander and Elsa Fahlberg and the half-brother of director and producer Harald Molander from his father's first marriage to actress Karin Molander.
